I am a long-time fan of this product. It works great on my rough feet and smells really good. I wish they still made this and I didn't have to hunt it down.

If you don't like going to the spa for a pedicure, or do like going out for a pedicure but are trying to save some money by doing your own at home, this is a nice product for a bit of pampering. This Spa Pumice Cream is scented with lavender and tea tree oil, but not very heavily, so if you really like the aromatherapy qualities of spa-time, you may want to bump it up with your own essential oils as well. Although this cream contains some acids (which help to soften skin and loosen dry skin), I think most people with sensitive skin would be okay with it since it won't stay on your feet for long.

The best way to use this Spa Pumice Cream is to fit it in partway through your pedicure routine. After soaking my feet or taking a bath or shower, so the skin on my feet is already soft, I use a Ped Egg or other scraper to remove dead skin, then push back my cuticles, trim my nails and use a scrub like this one to smoothen out my skin. I put a good-sized dollop of the Pumice Cream on a warm, wet washcloth and rub it all over my feet. The pumice in the cream helps with light exfoliation, but wouldn't be enough on its own to tackle calluses. It says on the bottle, "You'll get softer, smoother, naturally radiant feet," and that promise is fulfilled.

This cream isn't designed to be a lotion, (though it will moisturize your feet with its added vitamins,) so either stay in the bathroom to rinse your feet after rubbing them down, or bring some hot water with you to use for removing the cream. I'm sure Sally Hansen would want me to suggest following up with one of their lotions, but I'm partial to Ms. Pedicure Moisture Rich Heel Cream, which is a great daily foot cream and an excellent value. If you have sensitive skin, avoid the Ms. Pedicure cream or any foot-specific lotion that includes peppermint oil, which can be overly stimulating and borderline painful to raw, post-exfoliation skin; instead use a rich, natural product you're already comfortable with, since your skin will be more prone to react badly to irritants. (Many of The Body Shop's Body Butters are ideal for soothing and hydrating after exfoliation on your feet or anywhere on your body.)

Overall, I recommend this product. It isn't an essential beauty product, but it's very enjoyable as a special treat. I should also note that the scent isn't particularly feminine, and men will enjoy the experience too.

I love the formula for Sally Hansen Instra Dri. It goes on easily and smoothly. It dries quickly, and you only need two coats for perfect coverage. I saw a display at CVS which featured these new limited edition colors and I was blown away. All the colors were gorgeous, but this one "Red-io-active called out to me. It is metallic ruby red. It is simply beautiful. I can't wait to grab up some of the other colors in this collection too!!

Despite its name, this Platinum Polish looks a bit pinkish when applied. It's pearlescent, looking more white when turned one way and more pinkish when turned another. Very good coverage and holds up well to wear.

I got this about a month ago and began using it daily. Usually my nails break and split easily so I am never able to grow my nails out. Using this product daily and also nail oil on my nails and cuticles I now have nails that are stronger and growing! They are not as flexible and soft. I am definitely buying more of this when I run out. It's a gel formula that you rub into your nails.

I have tried at least a dozen products for my brittle, splitting nails. This is the only one so far to make any real difference. I love wearing nail polish, but I had to come to terms with the fact that the polishes dry out my nails more and make them even worse. I haven't worn polish in about 2 months, but my nails were still very weak.

After using this gel for just a few days my nails were already noticeably stronger and the existing splits didn't grow any further.

I'm 2 weeks in and the splits are almost all grown out with no new ones starting.

This is a gel treatment, not a polish, which is exactly what I was looking for. Every polish that claimed to strengthen nails did nothing but dry them out further and cause more splits.

Other reviews mention that it leaves a residue and takes some time to dry. I was surprised at how quickly it dried and the leftover residue is what helps your nails it's not greasy or anything, it feels similar to an intense moisturizer.

I picked this up at my local pharmacy after seeing the good reviews online because I couldn't wait to try it, and am so glad I did.

Do not buy this product. I did not purchase this from Amazon but from the store. I applied it daily and it actually caused my nails to break! This should be called VitaSurge Nail Weakining Gelbecause that is what it did. Weakened my nails and at least 4 of them broke after a short period of use. Use DuraCote by RejuvanateI did order that product from Amazon and it works wonderfully. My nails look beautiful after using the Duracote. Sally Hansen -Boo for putting out a really bad product. I will throw this in the trash and would not pay even 1 cent for this product!

Honest reviews on Sally Hansen VitaSurge Strength Gel -- 0.45 fl oz

I got this on sale at my local drugstore, and I didn't expect much. I have naturally very thin, flaky, breakable nails and have found it almost impossible to grow them. They are constantly peeling and breaking to the point where it can sometimes be painful. I thought it couldn't hurt to try this stuff out.

It's in a nail polish bottle, but it doesn't apply like a nail polish. It's a gel-like consistency, similar to an anti-bacterial hand soap but without the alcohol smell. It has a like aloe-fresh kind of scent. The applicator is what they call a "doe-foot" applicator; It's similar to what you see on the wand of a typical lip gloss.

Application is quite simple. You won't need to double-dip the wand. Just pull it out of the bottle and dab the gel at the top of your nail where your cuticle is. I would do one hand at a time. Once you have product on each nail, gently massage it in on the nail as well as the skin around the nail. The gel will absorb in about 30 seconds. Repeat on the other hand and that's it!

It's wonderful because the bottle says you may also use this on dry, painted nails as well, so you can keep your nails painted while using this product. It has definitely made my horrible nails NOTICEABLY stronger. They don't bend easily, but they still have a bit of flexibility to them. I've been using the product for 5 days and I have yet to have a nail break or flake.

Considering this product is a great price and works better than everything else I've tried, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is struggling with dry, brittle nails!

This is one of the best top coats that I've used and its true to its name Insta Dri. Love it!!

I was so excited the first time I used Sally Hansen Clearly Quick quick dry polish. It dried super fast and left a great shine. However, by the next day, it began chipping and peeling. When I use it as a top coat over colors, again it dries fast and the shine is gorgeous, but not even 24 hours later, the entire nail color 'pops' off my nails, like I'm wearing cheaply glued fake nails instead of nail polish. I spend 1-2 hours doing my nails and the next morning, without fail, one will 'pop' off and I'll have 9 painted nails. Over the next 24 hours several more will 'pop' off, until finally I just remove them all and start again. I love how inexpensive it is and I do love the shine, but I don't think its worth it to have to do my nails every 2 days like this!

In the past, whenever I tried to do my nails myself there were always problems. Something would occur between applying the nail polish and waiting for it to dry since I always ended up with smears, lines and other blemishes. Before I actually went out to buy a nail drying machine, I decided to follow a friend's advice and use this nail polish. I was told it was a miracle workjer but I had my doubts. Consider me converted! This nail polish is the best stuff ever!!

It applies evenly and dries within a minute (I give it two to be extra sure) and you are good to go. I can pick up keys from inside my purse, change clothes and even style my hair without any fear of blemishes.

This nail polish is worth every cent! I use it as a top coat for extra protection and it works like a charm.

Dries super fast, only have used it for french manicure, but still would recommend when you are in a hurry.

I have been doing my own manicures for years and absolutely LOVE this top coat. Dries fast, super shiny, and affordable. The women at the nail salon always think I'm wearing gel polish when I go for my pedicures. ONLY PROBLEM: after a while, I'd say a couple months, the formula changed and gets kind of thick and bubbly. It goes on thick and once it dries it's very bubbly. This doesn't keep me from buying it since it works amazingly up until then. I always recommend this top coat to my friends!

I bought this product in the store because I have wrinkles on my hands, but there has not been any difference using this. It does hydrate but as for firming no, so if you just want a hand creme buy this, but not for anti-aging and wrinkle control.

I had used this cream before and liked the way it smoothed my hands.

So I ordered 4 tubes so that I would not have to be reordering for a while.

Unfortunately, the tubes must have been old as the smell was terrible. I still have one that I do use occasionally as the cream seems ok except for the smell, but it drives my husband crazy when I use it because it smells so bad.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish, Greige Gardens, .5 fl oz
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

This year I finally kicked my lifelong nail-biting habit (woohoo!). Now that I have long enough nails, I and am rewarding myself by escaping from my usual rut of reds, dark purples, and French manicures.

This Fall I wanted to try out the grey trend but went into buying my first bottle of grey nail polish with trepidation. A year ago, my Mom gave me an OPI gift set that included what I thought was a grey, only to discover it was more of a brown when applied. I was disappointed because, while I have gotten used to some taupes this season, I just didn't feel comfortable wearing that shade (I think it's called You Don't Know Jaques!).

Great Color: I thought maybe grey wouldn't look good on me since I never wear pastel shades and have pale skin. I ended up loving it! I love this colorit's great for transitioning from work to going out. It's rich and clay-like, very close to what I would call a true grey. It is NOT a pastel, and is darker than the bottle appears. One person commented that they could see a purple hue, but Greige Gardens is lighter and more purple than Greige (I will be getting that one, too, my friend wears it and it looks beautiful on). Under some lights, Greige has a tinge of green, but in sunlight it's a nice grey. I like that it's not too light.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure: I tried this polish alone, and with a base and top coat. Alone, you get more of a matte look, which is cool because of the grey color. If I apply OPI base coat with my favorite Sally Hansen Quik-Dry (red bottle) top coat, however, this polish lasts, and lasts, and LASTS!!! I'm going on 5 days without a single chip. (I posted pics). It's a little odd to apply at first because it's thick so you can almost mold it into place, but it's actually really forgiving that way and nicks tend to smooth out. I've had bubbles surface right after finishing but they fade away somehow and I never notice them the next day. I have to say, I will be buying more of these Complete Salon Manicure bottles because they satisfy my urge to get gels done, without making my nails brittle. Plus, I can remove it myself!

Review of Sally Hansen All Over Body Wax Hair Removal Kit

Sally Hansen All Over Body Wax Hair Removal Kit
Customer Ratings: 2.5 stars

I've noticed that alot of people were giving this product a bad review but after reading their comments I figured that most of the reviewers didn't know a simple trick to make this wax worth your money. So I'm posting it now.

Items you need before using this product:

Baby powder

Kleenix/tissue paper

bowl of hot water (enough water to surround the wax container to keep it warm) if you don't have a wax warmer

-the product itself (oil, wax, paper strips & wooden stick)

Steps:

1Warm up the wax to make it semi-liquid in the microwave (usually a few second does the trick), use the wooden stick to stir the wax [Please note: you don't want the wax to be runny like water, should be like a pasty consistency that's a little runny]

2Place the wax container in the bowl of hot water to keep wax warm

3Use a Kleenix/tissue paper to pat the area you want waxed with baby powder so you have a white layer of powder on that area (helps prevent the wax from sticking to your skin)

4Spread the wax onto the powdered area and immediately put a paper strip over the wax (slightly patting it onto the wax)

5When the wax is not so warm/ thick (a couple seconds later after putting the paper strip on) pull the strip quickly in the opposite direction of the way your hair is growing [it's going to hurt not going to lie but if you do it fast enough it's not that bad, just think of your new hairless skin when you pull]. If you aren't fast with your hands, having someone else (friend, spouse, family member, etc...) will make pulling the strip less stressful.

6Repeat steps 3-5, the powdering of your skin where ever you plan to wax to prevent pulling off your skin.

7Use the oil (blue bottle) that is supplied to any wax residue to rub off the wax on your skin (do this after your done waxing)

8Take a shower, then put lotion on the spots that were waxed and you have your perfectly waxed skin to show off.

Quick profile:

Male

Asian

Took a star off for not having enough wax to actually do a full body wax.

I have thick, hard to remove hair and with other kinds of wax (even from Sally Hansen) I get lots of hair and residue left behind. This is the only wax that makes my armpits presentable! For me, the trick is using baby powder to make the area as dry as possible before I apply the wax.

DO:

1) Clean the underarms first to remove any deodorant residue. I use hydrogen peroxide but rubbing alcohol or a good loofah-scrubbing in the shower would probably also work

2) Use a bone-dry washcloth or towel to dry them as much as possible

3) Spread/rub in a layer of baby powder on each underarm area after drying and immediately before applying the wax

4) Spread the wax on in as thin a layer as possible over the baby powder

5) Smooth the strip on in the same direction as the hair

6) Rip off the strip in the opposite direction as the hair, as close to the skin as possible (across, not up).

I do steps 4-6 in two parts for each underarm first the lower part, where my hair grows down (and I pull the strip upward), then again for the upper part where my hair grows up (and I pull the strip downward).

7) Last, *after* the whole underarm is done, rub in the finishing oil.

I've been using this for years, and both my underarms are done in less than 10 minutes including wax microwaving time.

DON'T:

* Use the oil to "prepare" the area before waxing! This is a terrible idea, it will make it much harder for the wax to grip your hair.

* Use too much wax, this will just make it harder to pull the strip and harder for the wax to pull out your hair.

* Skip the baby powder step! For me, putting the wax over a smoothed-on layer of baby powder makes it less painful and more effective on the hair. On those rare occasions where I've forgotten to use baby powder, it hurts more and there's MUCH more hair and wax residue left over.

* Use deodorant for 24 hours after waxing, I think it makes ingrowns more likely. I just use one of those natural crystal/rock deodorants for a day before I go back to my regular deodorant/antiperspirant.

* Screw the lid back on completely after you use it, it will just be more difficult to open the next time when it cements itself shut. I just place the lid back on and turn it maybe a 1/4 turn (and store it right-side up). If it does cement itself shut, you can microwave it with the cap on until the wax loosens up inside the lid.

Before you give up on this wax, try baby powder!

I bought this product yesterday, and tried it out literally 30 minutes ago. I didn't want to waste my money on getting professionally waxed, so I was excited to use this 10 dollar product. At first, I got some hair off with little pain, but as I moved places, the wax would not harden. The cloth strips would not take the wax off, and I was left with a gooey mess all over myself which would NOT come off. It was easily one of the most uncomfortable situations I have EVER been in. The oil barely took any of it off, and there was not enough of it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS. It is down right awful, and will leave you bleeding and covered in wax.

Honest reviews on Sally Hansen All Over Body Wax Hair Removal Kit

This product removed the hair no problem, but it also removed half of my skin while i tried to get the wax off. I have used Nair wax in the past and never had a problem. Why did I switch??? I don't know. This wax is impossible to get off. The worst of it was the more I tried, the more it spread. By the end, my butt cheeks were sticking together. Not a pretty sight! Taking a shower only made it worse as my hands were covered with it. Go With the Nair brand. It washes right off and works almost as well.

As a seasoned home waxer I have to say that one star is way too much for this product! It is HORRIBLE! I moved to the States from the UK, where I am used to a wax that washes off easily with warm water, and real cotton strips that you can rinse then put in the washing machine and use again and again. Having run out of my British stuff I turned to Sally Hansen as a name that I recognized from other American products. BIG MISTAKE! Like all the other one star reviews say, it sticks like glue and the only way to get it off is with the tiny bottle of oil that comes with it. After one use on just my bikini line, I am out of oil and have no way of getting the stickiness off of just about everything in my bathroom!! The strips that come with it are some sort of paper derivative, and completely useless! And with how you have to tug to get them off, I am left with bruises and raw patches of skin despite using baby powder in preparation, as I always do.

One star will cover the fact that it does have a nice hot fudge type smell, and it comes with about 5 or 6 spatulas. However, that is because you can only use each spatula once as you can't wash them and use them again. If I was keeping this product and using up the whole tub, I would be out of spatulas about half way through the wax. Thankfully, the almost full tub, is firmly in the trash with the spatulas saved for another waxing kit. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Can anyone recommend an American waxing kit like my kit from the UK that I described?
