Recently bought this same product at Target for $4.76. This is the first time I've tried waxing and this kit is not beginner friendly. I found it to be extremely messy. The numbing solution is not very effective. The wax removal lotion for your hands does not work. It does a good job at removing hair, but after waxing twice, I still have hair remaining. I will try a different brand next time. I am giving it 3 stars instead of just 2 since I am a not an experienced waxer.

I think I have found the perfect lipstick and gloss! Carmindy's lipstick and gloss do not pill, slide or burn my lips. What a hidden treasure. Most lipsticks and glosses dry out or pill. For the first time my lips stay moist without looking like I'm drooling.

I'm so glad I followed my hunch and tried Carmindy's product line, but I wish Rite-Aid and CVS carried a more complete selection. I had to ask for these cosmetics and then only found a partial supply of them. The spray on foundation is light and wonderful and for the first time, does not cause my skin to break out.

Please do more marketing of her line. It is wonderful!

Convenient, effective and a lot of strips! I don't use anything else. These are not messy at all.

I use the big ones for my face too, just use scissors to cut the right shape. Make sure you leave an "edge" to grab hold of without having to get your hands sticky. Once you place it on, rub it 2-3 times, no more, and then pull against the grain. If you rub more than 3 times, the honey can get soft.

Update:

Years later I still use this stuff! I read some other reviews on this product. You really have to pull fast enough and make sure you're pulling the right direction. That is key. I've used these on my really thick pubic hairs (yes TMI, I know) as well as fine facial hair and it works. If you're wondering if you're pulling the right direction: your fingers should be closest to the end of the hair and farthest from the root. When you pull you should NOT pull UP (perpendicular to your skin) you have to pull in a direction that is PARALLEL to your skin. And pull very quickly.

My sister recommended this product awhile back and I just didn't believe it could work. Boy was I wrong. The strips (clear, plastic strips)are prewaxed and stuck together so all you have to do is warm the strip against your skin (I put the wax strip against my stomach and place my hand over it) and tear them apart, then place the strip where you want hair removed, yank it off (against the way the hair grows) and viola the hair is gone. You just throw away the used strip once you are done with it. There is no mess and no fuss. It does get most of the hairs you want removed too. I have used this for a year now and absolutely love it and highly recommend it. You can get this at Ulta which is where I get mine.

Best Deals for Surgi-wax Honey Wax Strips For Bikini, Body & Legs, 14 Double Sided

Bought this on a whim to try waxing my legs (something which I'd never done before at home OR at a salon). It's been a week and my legs are still perfectly smooth, compared to the stubbled nightmare they usually are a week after shaving.

Pros

No microwaving means that it was super easy and not very messy

Only a handful of stray hair didn't get grabbed, probably because they were to short

Actually not that painful, which I was worried about since I have sensitive skin

Was able to use each strip 2 or 3 times, and cut them for better placing in some spots

Cons

Some wax residue, but it was easily cleaned up with a bit of baby oil and a couple cotton balls

Had to go over a few areas multiple times, but that's not entirely the wax's fault--some of the hair grows in odd directions

Overall, I'm really happy with this product and will definitely purchase again when my first 3 boxes run out! ;-)

Honest reviews on Surgi-wax Honey Wax Strips For Bikini, Body & Legs, 14 Double Sided

These do not pull out all the hairs on the leg, make sure you don't leave the strips on too long, or not long enough. It depends on the temperature. You can also reuse them, especially if you aren't too hairy like me. They also work fantastic on the armpits, and I'm noticing my hair regrowth is slowing down. Place the strips in the direction of the hair growth and pull out against the hair growth. You may have to try multiple times as my hair growth isn't the same direction. Tried on bikini line, works OK I recommend the Brazilian hot wax for that.

I bought the Bikini, Body & Legs honey wax strips at Ulta. There are 14 double sided strips, giving you a total of 28 strips. It is a bit painful when you rip them off but the pain quickly subsides. I used the strips only on by upper legs (above the knee); I did it in 4 days because it was sticky, a bit painful and time consuming. After using all 28 strips my upper legs still have some hair on it. The strips were not consistent in taking alot of hair off, sometimes they would pull alot other times barely any hair would come off, I would try to reuse the strips again in another spot but it would only take a couple hairs if any off. I followed the directions, warming them between my hands for a few seconds, smooth on in the direction of hair growth and tear off in opposite direction; I even went over some areas in different directions because not all the hair grew in one direction. Never got the result I had hoped for... smooth legs. This product I believe would work well if you were doing an upper lip or under the arms but not a large area. I had let my hair growth on the leg to 1/2 an inch and even experimented on my lower leg with one strip which was at 1/4 inch of hair growth but the results were no better. Gave it 3 stars because it sort of worked but not the best results, and because you may be happy if you used it in a small area but you would probably need a couple applications over the same spot. Also some of the stips would get sticky on my legs, did not wash off with soap and water, I found that after an hour or two it would just disappear on it's own, don't do this just before you intend to go out on for a fancy occassion you will not be happy, it needs sometime to work with and unstick itself so it does not stick to your clothes.

I really like this Sally Hansen nail polish. It's very shiny, sparkly, and indeed does have a magnetic effect. The only problems I had were that whenever I was holding the magnet on, it was hard to hold it so that it didn't get any nail polish on the magnet; it was hard to hold it so that the magnetic effect got on the whole nail, not just the middle; whenever I sleep in it, the nails look groggy the next day.

Other than that I really like it. I think I just have to get the hang of it and be sure not to sleep with them until the nail polish is fully set.

Nail Soakers - 10pcs
Customer Ratings: 3 stars

I have been searching high and low for such a product! I'm tired of fussing with wrapping tin foil around cotton balls to get my glitters off and then I stumbled on these! They get the job done!

As for the review saying they are tight They aren't tight where your circulation is getting cut off, but they are tight as to not let the acetone or whatever remover you use leak out. Common sense should have told you that already.

These are fantastic and truly affordable at $8 I would have paid $30 if it had said so!

I definitely recommend these!!

This product is at its best when used in a salon. These allow customers to soak a finger or two at a time while you work on the rest of their nails. Just remember put a towel down. I wouldn't recommend for home use, as they are leaky buggers.

Best Deals for Nail Soakers - 10pcs

These nail soakers are definitely worth giving a try, even though they may look a little silly on the ends of your fingers. You must use common sense when using these. They are not SPILLPROOF, nor are labeled as such, so don't go swinging your hands around or do chores while wearing the soakers and expect them to stay put, because they won't. Even moving your fingers around too much can cause a small amount of product can leak out, but not a devastating amount.

I tried these after watching a YouTube tutorial on removing glitter nail polish, because just thinking about shredding one more cottonball on my glittery nails is enough to turn me into the Incredible Hulk. The small soaker containers do exactly what their job attests to, and the leftover acetone can be poured back into your original acetone container if you want to save a little money.

With the $3 price tag (including the FREE international shipping from Hong Kong!) these are definitely worth the try.

Honest reviews on Nail Soakers - 10pcs

I used these for the first time this weekend. I do my own gel manicures, and these were good for removing polish but since they totally covered my fingertips, when it was time to scrape off the polish on the first hand, I had no way to do it with these on. When I use foil, I can still use my fingers. Also, please note, only fillthe clear part up half way because as you push your fingers into it, the acetone squirts out all around where the pink meets the clear plastic...MESSY! They do fit snuggly around my fingers, which are average sized (middle finger size 8, ring finger size 7, etc etc)...anyone with larger fingers will definately have a cut off of circulation as mine was close to it.

I have started doing my own gel nails at home and have been looking for a way to soak them off without cutting up foil and wrapping each finger (what a hassle!). These have worked great! I use a small medicine dropper to put the acetone in and you just slide your finger in and have a tight seal! Afterwards, I just rinse them out with water and let them air dry before putting them away.

I had very low expectations of this item, mainly because of its low price. However, I was pleasantly surprised upon trying it. I put it on before bed and immediately could feel my skin absorbing it and my lips slightly plumping up. I have been noticing lines around my mouth every morning when I wake up. The next day however, the lines were almost gone. I continued to use it and noticed daily improvement. However, don't expect a miracle, like full lips or anything like that. This basically maintains healthy smooth lips, and I recommend using it in conjunction with Sally's Radiance lipstick.. Definitely a great product for the price!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I am a woman with a slight mustache (I think this is the case for most woman). I shave the unwanted hairs but I've wanted to try waxing for the longest time because it pulls hairs from the root. I have tried chemical lotion that works but my skin is sensitive so I was running about with a red blotch above my lip for a day and I'd rather have the hairs.

The first time I tried this product, it was very unsuccessful. Since this was my first time trying, I didn't want to run to my computer and write a bad review of the product because I was certain my inexperience caused it to go so wrong. Let's just say, the wax is messy and I ended up pulling hairs off from my cheek vs. my upper lip. I decided to wait and try it again.

My first thought about the directions: Oh my. I almost didn't want to try using the product! Here I am, thinking, wow, what a great product, but then you read the instructions, there are warnings galore, and it says the hair should be 5mm in length to work best. That seems short. Or I'm just not the smartest gal. Either way, I was discouraged. But the second time I read the instructions, I focused only on how to use the strips for the upper lip and ignored all the warnings. If you do that, you're good to go (I do suggest reading everything, though).

When I tried this product the second time, it was much easier to use. One wax strip is really two (this is something I didn't realize the first time I used it) you warm up the wax, then pull the two strips apart. The first strip works wonderfully, as you can imagine. It's freshly warmed up, good to go, apply, press, and rip off. Hairs be gone! But what about the other one? Well, it's sitting there, being cooled down. And it's not as affective. And well, design flaw, anyone? Sure, you can apply, rip off fast in hopes the other wax strip doesn't cool, but that's really not going to happen. The first one worked fine -I had missed some hairs, but I got a lot off and at the root and I was pleased (and this time I didn't wax my cheek hairs).

The second strip/side of my lip was not so clean. In fact, it was a mess. And then I saw a tiny speck of blood and I was like, what am I doing??? I'm ripping off my skin, slowly but surely! So I tossed that wax strip and started with a new one. For whatever reason, this side just didn't work as well as the first side. Fresh wax strip or no, it just was not happening. I reapplied several times (instructions advise of doing so) and ended up pulling off a bit of my cheek. Luckily it was like that first layer of skin, so I don't look that odd. I barely got any hair off. So I grabbed my razor and finished off the job.

Someone else mentioned this packaging flaw: you get 20 wax strips (which are really 40 once you pull them apart) but only four wipes to clean the dang wax off. Granted the wipes are only baby oil and you can just go buy a bottle for a buck, but still that doesn't make sense to me at all. I guess they assume someone is waxing like crazy and is using many strips at once? Not sure. Just be forewarned that you should have some baby oil on hand.

I did not try other parts of my body because I'm too afraid of how that'll go.

Would I use this again? Strangely, I have to say yes. I like how the result of the first side of my upper lip. I now know I either have to be super fast or I have to toss the other wax strip side. I know my cheeks do not like waxing and there is a very large possibility that I might rip off my skin. I had red skin for a bit, but the next day I was fine and everything feels smooth. I'm interested to see how fast the hair grows back.

Overall, this is a product you have to learn to use if you're inexperience with such things (as I am). I can see this being handy for eyebrows and maybe other random areas, but if you have one or two scraggly hairs that you want to remove, just pluck them or shave them. I don't think any product should get a bad review when it requires the buyer to participate a lot for it to be successful, so just know what you're getting into. Practice makes perfect!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

The following video opens up the Veet package and explains all the contents inside.

Best Deals for Veet Cold Wax Strips Face

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have actually been using Nad's recently, which is an amazing product. But thought it wouldn't hurt to try something newalways on the look out for a better quality product or price! I think this product is incredibly easy to use. It got every hair I wanted it to with one yank. (Ouch.) To simplify this, here are some pros/cons:

Pros:

-Easy to use

-Does its job well

-Super smooth skin!

-Easy to cut if the size/shape isn't easy for your eyebrows

Cons:

-Don't use the after wipes. They're awful, don't remove the wax well. And no matter how many times I wash my face after using them, I get zits. Just use warm water and a wee bit of soap.

-Wax is so so so sticky.

-One of the most painful waxing products I've ever used.

This is a good product, it does what it should and is cost effective. Though if you're not one for a lot of pain and would like to wax yourself, I suggest Moom's. That product is probably the least painful that I've used.

*Update* I'm never using this product again. No matter how many times I wash my face and do whatever... I get an awful rash the next morning! And I have the same reaction after using Nad's too. I'm sticking to Moom's!!

Honest reviews on Veet Cold Wax Strips Face

These strips hurt SO bad but got rid of so much hair!!! I kept going on my upper lip over spots I missed and the product is so strong it literally ripped off an entire 1 in by 1 in layer of top skin near my lip, causing burning, redness, and then scabbing (ouch). This is 3 days later now and I still can't find a way to cover it up with the dryness and ton of MAC Make-up coverup I own. So, If you buy it, it's cheap, so it's easy to screw up. Unless you're a professional who can work with a crappy product with a smile, buy something that easier to use at home and won't leave a scar.....because I sure as hell am hoping this won't (fingers crossed).

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I really didn't like this product. The smell of the wipes was sickening! It was easy enough to use, but I didn't care for it at all. My skin does feel smooth after using it, but the wax doesn't remove easily with the wipes. I ended up using alcohol to remove it then the wipes again. Won't be using it again.

Love all the HD colors offered by Sally. I do however add about 5 coats with a top coat of high gloss. Just beautiful.

This was my "go to" nail polish for all of last fall. I love the rich color and shine it gives to your nails.

The color is just perfect, not so dark that it looks plum, but not so light that it looks like a candy purple. Cyber is a great name for it, because even though it's a true purple, it's just not your every day purple color. I almost want to say is has a neon kind of hue to it. I get comments on it every time I wear it.

The HD line of nail polishes from Sally Hansen has beautiful colors and as of now, are my favorite in the line. They are some of the most chip resistant polishes I have ever used. I can go about 4-5 days without a chip in my fingernail when using the HD line (I use one coat of clear topcoat as well). They never chip when wearing them on my toe nails. Other brands of polishes I start to have troubles almost right away.

I highly recommend the Sally Hansen HD line of polishes!

I love the color but this polish dents too easily. I even tried waiting 30 minutes after the first coat before putting on one more coat. I use this product as a lip moisturiser and lip plumper. Would not like to see this product discontinued, which usually happens when I find a product I really like. The best thing about this product is it leaves my lips soft , plumped and not sticky like other lip plumpers.

My lips do look moisturized and feel hydrated when I use this product and for that sole reason I will be buying more. No, my lips do not appear bigger or more "plump". I usually do not use all of any lip product because they just don't do it for me, I am so far to the bottom of this lip gloss that when I use it the rim rubs against my lips and I will use it until I can't anymore.

It bothers me that they're even allowed to claim it's a lip plumper. I wasn't expecting anything extreme but I honestly didn't notice ANY lip-plumping qualities. If I wanted a chapstick, that's what I would have bought.

I've placed the same review on every Sally Hansen Cornsilk product I can find on Amazon, because I LOVE this product, HATE that it's discontinued, and want it back...we all need to contact Sally Hansen and demand the product comes back~!

This product was discontinued for a while, somewhere around 2006 or 2007-ish. I've done some considerable reading on other message boards on this product, as well as having contacted Sally Hansen itself. What I learned was that the product had been discontinued back in that '06-'07 time period shortly before Cornsilk's manufacturer, Coty, had acquired Sally Hansen. Once they did that, they decided to move their Cornsilk line over to the Sally Hansen label, and began selling it again, as a Sally product. Longtime users noted that, once the product was sold under the Sally name, the ingredients list changed--the most noteworthy change being that their most touted ingredient, walnut husks, dropped down the ingredients list considerably, and talc, an ingredient which is NOT good in facial powers and which was NEVER listed previously, was now the TOP ingredient. Despite this disappointing change, this new product was nevertheless STILL better than any other facial powder on the market by a mile.

Now it appears the product is discontinued again. Sally no longer makes it. Through my research, I was able to ascertain that Sally decided some time ago to completely discontinue the Cornsilk line, but continued to make the NO COLOR version of the product until supplies ran out. They finally stopped making the product around the end of 2008. So all the Cornsilk you'll find out there now are from businesses that specialize in discontinued make-up, or stores that buy discontinued lots, like Big Lots or the like. This is why the product is now suddenly much harder to find, and a LOT more expensive than it used to be.

Meanwhile...there is NOTHING else like it on the market. I really don't understand why there is SUCH fervor over all the mineral powders that are on the market, like Bare Minerals and Sheer Cover. I've tried a couple of them, and all cake into cracks and crevices TERRIBLY and make the face look MORE aged and completely unnatural...NOTHING like what they seem on TV.

This product is the BEST one out there for absorbing oil, matting shine, and smoothing imperfections like large pores or wrinkles, while looking completely NATURAL on. And I'm SO disappointed at Coty/Sally Hansen for discontinuing this line...and I've written them to let them know what I think about it. They've never promoted the line very well--I've NEVER ONCE seen a tv commercial for this product. But it's a gem.

I hope they reconsider their decision and bring the product back to the market. Maybe if enough consumers protest...on one board that I read, a consumer who had contacted Sally mentioned that the Sally rep was keeping a list of names and numbers of those requesting that the product is reincarnated, and perhaps if enough requests are made, they'll reinstate the product. So anyone who wants this product back should take a moment to contact Sally Hansen at TalkToUs@cotyinc.com or 1-800-953-5080. Perhaps a grass roots effort is what is needed to return this product back to the shelves. I'd let Sally know that if they only MARKETED the darned product, the customers would buy! If you've never used this product before, just give it a try--you'll never go back.

Update 02/23/2011: On the several occasions I tried calling the customer service number for Coty, I got a msg that said their customer service department was unavailable while in training. Interestingly, my various calls were not placed back-to-back, but at random times over the course of a year. They must do a lot of training there.

I wrote customer service once, but got no answer back, and wrote again recently. I finally got a response when I mentioned my reviews here on Amazon, and the considerable response that they were getting. Please see the comments for this review to read the letter sent to me.

Sally Hansen stupidly discontinued the best powder Coty ever put out on the market, not to mention changed the formulation by adding lots of talc to it. They need to bring this product back and use the original formulation. I've tried the powder Sally Hansen says took Corn Silk's place and all I have to say is save your money ladies, it sucks! I have still yet to find anything that even slightly compares to Corn Silk. The original corn silk was light and shear and really did a fabulous job at absorbing oil without the color of the powder changing on your face like many others do,and it also never got splotchy. I really miss this product. Thanks a lot Sally Hansen.

I'd also like to add that even though Sally Hansen changed the ingredients it still worked better than everything I've tried today, but the original formulation did work the best.

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Polish Review

"It's magnetic? WHOA!"

I was awestruck when I first heard about Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Polish. I ran a search for photos of it on Tumblr, and it looked amazing. All the pictures featured a beautiful, swirley line pattern horizontally across the nails.

Not only was the look appealing, but what caused it seemed downright cool! Apparently, the polish contains magnetic particles that move around to form that design when you put a magnet over it (when it's still wet).

So I set out to get me some of this revolutionary nail polish!

Here's everything I liked and disliked about the product, from the color and price to the final design and more.

Color Variety

The Magnetic Nail Polish comes in eight colors: Golden Conduct, Purple Potion, Silver Elements, Kinetic Copper, Red-y Response, Ionic Indigo, Electric Emerald, and Graphite Gravy.

Eight colors is quite a variety. Can you think of any other colors you'd like to see included in that collection? I sure couldn't. Plus, they all seem to be bold and vibrant colors. I wanted them all!

After much time was spent trying to pick a color, I eventually settled on green. It is my favorite color, and green goes with a lot of the clothing I own. It's the only color I've tried so far.

Pricing

I wasn't too psyched about the pricing. At my local Target, they're $8.99 each. I normally would NOT pay this much for nail polish (or just about any other beauty product, for that matter), but I really was dying to try this particular one. So I got it, anyway.

How does it look?

When I took it home and tried it, I was so excited! I followed all of the instructions very carefully. Here's what the process calls for:

1. Apply a clear base coat on all your nails. Let dry.
2. Apply first coat of magnetic nail polish on all your nails, let dry.
3. Apply another coat of magnetic nail polish to one nail (Tip: make sure this one's thick. The thicker it is, the better the design shows up).
4. Immediately after applying the second coat, place the magnet over your nail. Hold it there for 10 seconds (moving it around a little to make sure it covers your whole nail).
5. Repeat for all the rest of your nails. Let dry.
6. Apply a final clear coat on top.

I took pictures of every step, which are on the right. I also took a video of the step involving the magnet, just to give everyone a clear idea of what is required.

What you see in the pictures is my second try. The first time, the design appeared as just this messy, dark line across my nails. Even the second time around, I had to redo several of my nails because the design came out a complete mess. If you didn't know what kind of nail polish it was, you would think I had done a really bad job painting my nails. It looked like the color was badly uneven on my nails.

After several re-dos and a lot of time spent, I finally got my nails to look how they do in the picture on the right (The last thumbnail labeled "End result"). You can see the stripes going horizontally across my nails. When the light hits them, the stripes have almost a 3D effect. I have to admit that after all was said and done, it was pretty cool. I just had to go through way too much trouble to get there!

The Final Verdict

I give this product three out of five stars. The idea of it is really cool, and the design looks awesome, but it's just too difficult to make it look like it's supposed to. What I'm trying to say is, the results are not at all consistent. On one nail you might get a perfect design, on another you might get just a blob of dark color that looks awful, and on another you might get absolutely nothing.

Even if you can get the design looking great on the first try, it's still very time consuming, having to apply the magnet to each individual nail. Not to mention the time you will likely have to spend re-doing the nails that don't come out so great.

I will never buy this product again. To me, it's just too much trouble, and it's extremely frustrating. It's certainly not worth nine dollars. Honestly, I wouldn't even buy it again for half that. But hey, if you have the money to spend and a whole lot of patience, have at it.

While I'm very disappointed, I'm glad I gave it a try.
