I have been waxing for years, and it does take years to realllllly get down the art of waxing yourself. I have tried a large number of waxes.....from cold to hot, and have found that Nair Microwavable Wax, is a complete package with everything you need to perform the job. It heats up the easiest, cools down the slowest, takes the most hair off, and being water soluble is the easiest to get rid of that sticky feeling you are left with after waxing, as well as being able to get it off of anything you may drip it on......oh, and it smells yummy !! I was lost, trying to find it in stores (and I am down to two boxes of it, I had found on sale years ago and luckily bought about 7 of them !!)....before I ran out and didnt have any to use, I checked here, and not only found it, but at a FANTASTIC price. They are $10.50 plus s/h for one box on the Nair website, and here I paid about $15 for two boxes, with free shipping, having it sent regularly. The good part about waxing, is that it comes back thinner (having to reform and push through your skin) and lighter in colour, and you will find lovely bald spots where there will never be another hair again woohoo !! My armpits have a thin little line down the middle of them, and it continues to get smaller. Girls out there that found this product didnt work for them, needed to keep on doing it. You will find, for all intents and purposes, that it is not the product, but the user of the product, that cant make this stuff work. It literally took me a few years to be good at it, and many years to start learning little tricks and ways of pulling the skin to assist in the release of the hair, as well as which consistency works best for the specific area you are waxing. You will find that you use far less ripping sheets, as you get better at the job, and will be left with leftover sheets for your next box (I used to have to buy extras, but if that happens, dont be alarmed, just know that as your "talent" increases, the ripping sheets will decrease). I love this wax, and will continue to have it delivered, until I no longer have hair anywhere that I dont want it !! :-)

Pros:

-smells amazing

-heats up quickly

-comes with TONS of strips

-sugar based wax so water soluble

-easy to use esp. for beginners

Cons:

-stiffens quickly even though still hot (will need to reheat)

-doesn't get out coarser hair

Overall I would say that this product decently works. I'm a beginning self-waxer and this was easy to navigate with no mess. I only had 1 minor issue with this wax (which I kind of anticipated but wanted to try this anyway). Because it is sugar based I didn't feel like it harden enough to really "trap" coarse hair. I have a small amount stubborn, thick hair and none of it really came off. If you have coarser hair I would recommend using a harder wax than any of the sugar or honey varieties.

The product works wonderfully on normal hair. And I love that it is water soluble. It makes for effortless clean up on your body (sticky fingers included) and on any hardware spills. Also if you need more strips (which is doubtful because they give you more than enough) you can just wash out the used ones and air dry them.

Honest reviews on Nair Hair Removal Kit, Microwave Wax for Legs, Body, and Bikini

I have tried so many different hair removal products and devices and this is the best! It removes all the hair the first time and washes up with plain water. No Mess! It comes with alot of cloths and I just throw each one in a bowl of water as I use them and then they just rinse clean and can be reused. I also had alot less pain with this stuff because it doesn't grab your skin at all, just the hair.

I was very excited to order this product. I read the directions carefully and tried several times, but it did not remove one hair. I was explained by my daughter that Nair products seem to work for people with fine hair but not for women w/coarse hair. I guess my italian decent is to blame. Do not waste your dollars if you know you have this hair type. What's a real bummer is that I had to buy the double pack. I hope this review saves someone the disappointment and the money!

I wish you could attatch pictures to review because these look so great on my nails. I have tried nail polish strips and shieldsin just about every brand. This is my first set of this brand and I am a huge fan and will definitely be buying these again. I put them on yesterday and I have had so many compliments on them. They were easy to put on took about 15 minutes and really look great! The pattern really stands out and is so vibrant. I prefer these over the nail shields as the shields always get ridges on my nails. These lay flat just like real nail polish because they are real nail polish. The only downside to this is if you aren't careful with them, just like real nail polish, you can chip them, but other than that they look great.

I've only tried this one (the sparkly one) from this company. I liked it but was really hard to remove.

Love this product. I started doing my mother's nails on a regular basis last summer. I was frustrated that chips developed after only a few days. The CND shellac system lasted two weeks but I'm not artistic enough to create cool designs. We tried Jamberry shields after we saw them on co-workers. I found them much more difficult to apply. I could create salon perfect results with shellac but the Jamberry were always wrinkled at the edges. This created raised pieces that caught on hair and clothing. Anywhere with a wrinkle began peeling within 24 hours and even the nails with no wrinkles began peeling after just a few days. The Jamberry were also much thicker which created a thick "ridge" near the cuticle as the nail grew out. Watched videos and tried countless application tips but I just wasn't satisfied with the end result. So I searched online and discovered Incoco's website. I have to admit Jamberry has more designs that I love but I found plenty of great options with Incoco. They take about an hour to apply including nail prep with separate base/topcoat. If placed directly on the nail, you can peel them off and reposition as needed. They stick pretty firmly to my base coat and aren't repositionable so I have to aim right on the first try. Each purchase includes with two sheets of 8 double-ended strips. I have medium length nails and can do both hands and both feet with one sheet. You have to quickly reseal the unused ones but they still dry out once open and can only be saved for a few weeks before they get brittle. Most designs are very easy to remove although anything with glitter takes a bit more effort. They last 10-14 days before chipping. Crown Jewels was perfect for Easter while Stars & Stripes worked for July 4th and US Soccer matches. Ballerina Princess, Topaz Treasure, and Pink Parasol are a few everyday favorites. Diamondback Blue was OK but darker than expected. Pretty Thing wasn't as impressive in person.

Honest reviews on Incoco Nail Polish Strips, Patriotic Nail Art, Stars and Stripes

I love the designs incoco offers, but every single product I have purchased are almost dried out, which makes them difficult to apply. I've even had to use nail glue to get them to stick. And you cannot keep unused one for later. They will crack in half. I'll stay with Essie and Sally Hansen. I get much more mileage out of those...

Finally I found the perfect under-eye concealer. And for once it isn't ridiculously expensive. What makes this concealer stand out is that it isn't super oily, which makes everything else smudge. This concealer is just the right consistency. It goes on smoothly but isn't oily. The coverage is just right. and it is a lot of it in this little tub. The price is right too.

This is a great product! It is very difficult to find in stores (I don't know why)...so I was overjoyed to find it still online. I used this as an eyeshadow base. It goes on smoothly; doesn't clump; easy to use and stays put. It covers well (both over and under); looks natural and provides a nice canvas for powder eye shadow.

I love this product and I order it from Amazon.com because you cannot find this product in any stores anymore. I hate when they discontinue things that I love. So I try to order as much as I can before Amazon.com runs out of it. I feel the same way about Cornsilk Pressed Powder and Loose Powder. That is another product that I can only get online because they have discontinued it. I wish these products would come back!

Sally Hansen Angel Wings Complete Salon Manicure - .50 fl. oz.
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

First, Sally Hansen is a nail polish I've used since first introduced to stores. I've used Sally Hansen's "Hard As Nails" clear cover coat as a top coat over nail polish from other companies. When Sally Hansen introduced their own color line in nail polish, I waited for different colors & a good quality nail enamel.

Second, "Complete Salon Manicure" is a creamy-looking nail polish. It goes on smoothly.

Not extreme polish odor.

Thirdly, the "Angel Wings" color matched my pale skin tone, was perfect for my Christmas seasonal look & for New Year's. The color is a creamy, pale pink, with silver shimmer. The pink is not over bearing. It is a subtle pale pink & silver that shimmers when your fingers move in light.

I applied 3 coats of this nail polish to get total coverage of my nails & to achieve the pink & silver shimmer effect. So, you will need alittle more nail polish to get the color & shimmer effect you see in the bottle.

This particular color might be seasonal, it was available during '2011-'2012 holiday season. I do not know when/if this color will be discontinued?

Incoco Nail Polish Strips, Gray Silver, Twilight Review

Incoco Nail Polish Strips, Gray Silver, Twilight
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

I can't say enough about Sally Hansen nail strips (and Incoco nail strips)! Finally, I can have painted nails! My nails are thin and any nail polish I used chipped within two days sometimes they chipped in less than one day. I bought these based on the reviews and I had very low expectations, I think because what works for most people's nails usually doesn't work for me.

Honestly, the first trial didn't go well. They chipped almost immediately around the edges, but it wasn't terribly noticeable because of the pattern. The rest of the polish stayed on nicely.

The second trial was much betterI learned how to smooth the edges better so no chips. After 7 applications, I thought I'd write a review it's FOR REAL!!!

WHAT I LIKE:

*Nails last at least 7 days (they probably last longer, but I have to keep my nails very short for my sport, so I have to change nail polish once a week)

*The patterns make my short nails look feminine

*They are instantly dry no waking up in the morning with smudges!!!

*They are affordable I get TWO applications from each box because my nails are short

THE DOWNSIDE:

*Taking the nail polish off is a process have plenty of nail polish remover on hand and patience, too.

*Putting the nail strips on takes longer than painting nails. (If you count dry-time the strips are faster than regular polish, but the application time is longer.)

SALLY HANSEN VS. INCOCO

*Sally Hansen's strips come in TWO separate pouches, so I can have two applications. Incoco's strips come in one pouch that can be resealed. Sometimes the second set can dry out and not work.

*Sally Hansen's strips are often available on Prime so you can get them faster (and cheaper) than Incoco's strips

*Incoco's big advantage is tasteful designs. Some are just gorgeous. I'm a 40+ woman and am not interested in skulls and tattoo art on my fingers. Most of Sally Hansen's patterns are targeted at teens. Incoco's designs are beautiful and more appropriate for women.

TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION

*Make sure the room is WARM. I turn on a space heater.

*Once you have the polish in place, smooth it down well with your fingers.

*Make sure to smooth the tips well any rough edges will "catch" on fabric and chip

*Apply a clear top coat within 24 hours.

*Apply a second top coat after 3 or 4 days.

This is absolutely a stunning color. I always get complements on it. It may look dark on the photo, but it has a shimmer to it. So it looks a bit silvery/glassy but also purple, blue to green dark and light at the same time it is hard to peg down. Like when oil is floating on water kind of thing. Also depends how the light hits it. Anyway it is one of my other favorites for pedicures. I have noted a few others throughout the Incoco collection out here on Amazon tho I usually order directly from the source.

My other favs for pedi are: Runway, Rock on, and used to be Ballerina Princess but I think that is on its way out... I plan to try Cobra Couture this year. I like Oscar night as well if you want a warm color. Twilight is the one I wore the most last year. (and yes you can use the finger ones on the toes see below). I mostly keep my hands in a classic white french tip with an occasional overlay of the "pixie" french film from incoco just the sheer over my gel manicure. So like to have more fun with the toenail colors.

I am attaching the same thing below that I posted in other reviews in case you haven't seen it before you might find it helpful if you are new to nail films.

---------------

I love nail films. I stumbled across them about 6 years ago and have been using them exclusively ever since no more polish here. I have been using Incoco products for at least 5 years and just discovered they are available on Amazon. I had been ordering directly from Incoco before. They are a wonderful invention others have jumped on board since that time as well, but Incoco has the best selection IMO.

TIPS AND TRICKS

Using manicure strips for pedicures

I use a lot of the manicure colors as pedicures including this color. I can usually get at least two, sometimes three pedicures out of a kit as one fingernail strip can often do two, sometimes 3 toenails.

TIP: Use a manicure scissors to cut the strips off cleanly, exactly where you want so you can use the remaining portion on another nail.

TIP2: If you wrap a small bit over the top of the nail cap the tip instead of filing it they will last a LOT longer.

Problems

The only problem I have is with possible drying out of the remaining nail strips. These pedicures last me at LEAST 3 weeks, but once you open the kit the strips start to dry out. So here are some tips on that...

1. Only take out the strips as you will use them. For example take out the large nail strip when you do the thumb/big toe. Leave the others covered in the package.

2. Do you work away from a fans/AC blowers, etc.

3. Seal up the package ASAP.

4. Seal it well! I use scotch tape at the end after I have squeezed out all the air I can. Then I seal that in a Ziploc with the air squeezed out.

5. If they do dry out, they will become more dry and brittle and prone to wrinkle and crack/tear as you apply. At this point I can still use them as I am an old pro by now :-) ... I've found the early wrinkles can be pressed out with a hard smooth object (like back of a spoon). Early/clean tears can be fixed with additional strips applied/lined up on the uncovered area just don't double up. But if they are too dried out you just have to throw them out! a real Bummer when you think you have a color ready to put on and open them up to find you have none!!

NEW Application tips

1. Don't worry too much about lining it up to your cuticle etc unless you are heading directly out the door! If you are staying in for the next 24 hours it will probably come off with some coaxing by you very easily. If you have to leave in an hour or so you can remove it by just peeling it off using a tweezers or other nail implement or anything even your nails (i don't recommend using them tho) to lift off the excess, or even filing it off. Just don't give up because you can't "line up" the strips.

2. I think the directions still say to file the edges. I find they last much longer if you "cap" the edge that is fold over some of the strip. Much like any salon manicure, if they do not cap the edges, it will start to pull away.

3. Mentioned above re-read above to keep your strips from drying out.

4. Cut the strips with a mani scissors. Save the paper and cover films for remainder if you are not going to use entire strip. You may want it for a toe or a patch later on.

All I can think of for now!

Love Incoco, but the color on this one was slightly different than I expected. (There was a lot more blue in it.) Love the product, and how long it'll last me even made it through an EXTREME cleaning weekend, with no scratches or chips!

SALLY HANSEN Fuzzy Coat Special Effect Textured Nail Color - Fuzz-Sea

I have been waiting for this polish to come out ever since I first saw it in a magazine weeks ago. I was finally able to get some and it is fantastic. The polish applies much easier than I thought it would. It also give much better coverage than I expected. Two coats of this gives you a very nice, thick, fuzzy appearance. You can still see nail underneath with two coats, but you can still make out the long bar texture of the flakes. This particular color "Fuzz-sea" is a mixture of turqouise blue and yellow-green "glitter bars". I don't know what else to call them, they are long thin strands of plastic glitter type material (however they are matte, they do not sparkle at all". I love this polish and I hope that it gets added to the Sally Hansen line permanently and is not just a limited edition.

Just a note: These are super hard to remove. I had put on two coats and it took me 30 minutes to get it off my 10 nails using regular strength nail polish remover. I was just about ready to break out the orbital sander...lol. I had used just this polish, perhaps it would have been easier to remove if I had used a basecoat first. On the plus side these seem like they will stay on for a long time and not chip.....

This stuff looks cute in the bottle but I strongly advice you not to buy it.

ALL other website reviews haven given it a poor score but I learned it the hard way

1.) It begins to chip within a day and

2.) You can't remove it with nail polish remover.

I had to go to a salon to remove it and they had to file it off after first attempting to soak it off.

This stuff is super cutebut the instructions say 3 coats and I used like 6 coats and got it on thick so that the nail bed did not show through. I did not like the thinner coat/layer look. I tried it over another polish too and it was ok, but loads of layers is more my style. its a rough finishso top coat or expect snagging

Honest reviews on SALLY HANSEN Fuzzy Coat Special Effect Textured Nail Color

I never would have picked this polish, but my bf thought it looked cool. I was highly skeptical it would go on without getting clumpy and then smudging. Not the case. I was so happy. It looks beautiful and it has staying power. My polish is usually always coming off about 24 hours later, not this stuff. You can move the pieces around on your nail to get full coverage, without it drying and getting goopy on you. Two or three coats and it's all set. Looks amazing. I keep getting compliments.

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Regular Nail Enamel - Clear - 0.45 oz Review

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Regular Nail Enamel - Clear - 0.45 oz
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars

My nails grow fast and are naturally a bit soft and bendy. My nails would grow a decent amount, then snag, break, or just get so dirty and ragged and uneven that I would clip them super-close to avoid being embarrassed by them. I never had the money to go to a salon and even if I did, I don't trust anyone who wants to clip off my cuticles! Nor did I want fake nails they had always struck me as uncomfortable, unsanitary, a bit dangerous, and just too false-looking. So I had just figured that my nails would stay in their sorry state until I was old enough and bourgeois enough to afford a good-quality weekly manicure.

Then I became single for the first time in 6 years, and found I wanted to pamper myself and do something to feel more feminine in a small and easy way. People notice nails I know I was always aware of which of my friends had glossy, beautiful nails. I specifically went into the nail-hardener search looking for a product that would give me long, glossy, hard, natural nails.

I was honestly looking for a different product with higher reviews (OPI's strengthener) and after trying 3 different stores without success, I bought Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails in Clear instead, out of sheer shopping exhaustion. It's available everywhere and cost at least 5 dollars less than what I was looking for. At Target it cost less than 2 dollars.

I also bought a super cheap 4-sided nail buffer (also less than 2 bucks at Target). I wanted my nails to look as smooth and shiny as possible and I knew that progressive-sided buffers like this were the best first step. I once got roped into buying a 25 dollar buffer-and-moisturizer set from a mall kiosk salesman what a crock! You can buy the same buffer anywhere for less than 2 bucks and get perfect shiny nails.

That night I used the various sides of the nail buffer to sand down the ridges in my nails, buff, and shine all 10 nails. A note sometimes it's easier to hold the buffer still and move your nail over it instead, especially when doing your dominant hand.

Then I washed my hands (there's a fine dust that comes off your nails from the buffing). I noticed that my nail tips were looking a bit yellow, so I soaked them in a strong solution of hydrogen peroxide, water, and lemon juice for about 5 minutes, until they had clearly bleached out to a shade much closer to white. I washed again and dried thoroughly.

Then the moment of truth I got the medicinal-looking little bottle out of its package and opened it. As I applied it, I was very happy with how easy it is to apply. It's clear, so it's tough to mess up, even if you're as uncoordinated as I am. I applied one coat to my nail and one coat to the underside of the nail.

This stuff dries reasonably fast. I gave it 30 minutes or so on each hand before doing anything strenuous.

I was immediately pleased by how shiny my nails were. The gloss is high on this product, which for me was a big plus like having shiny hair, I feel shiny nails look healthy, youthful, feminine, and pretty. It's clear, so it's understated, but it's still obvious my nails have been cared for.

That was Friday night. This is Monday night, so I've had it on about 72 hours. I had a big 3 days that involved a trip to an amusement park, a day-trip to Washington DC, and a day's work as a nanny. Despite having only applied 1 coat, my nails are still nearly as shiny and nice right now as they were Friday. After 3 days of being rough with my hands, none of my nails have chipped, torn, cracked, split, or peeled in the last 3 days, even though they are all at an advanced stage of growth. They are long and shiny and glorious, and they definitely don't bend anywhere near as much as they did they're positively hard, in fact.

I am a convert and a believer. If you're interested in a glossy, hard nail that lasts long enough to grow out, I recommend Hard as Nails without reservation. Cheap, available, glossy, effective.

I used this many years ago. Couple of months ago my nails had gotten to be a good lengh and wanted them to stay that way till my daughters wedding. So I started using it. With in a few weeks all my nails broke off, are split, cracked and in horrible shape. It had to be this product cause I have never had this problem before using this product. Now I have no nails, nothing to file they are so short. Must have changed the formula, was so disapointed.

Best Deals for Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Regular Nail Enamel - Clear - 0.45 oz

Love, love, love. I know this keeps getting a lot of bad reviews, but it's been a fantastic product for me. I do have to agree, if you only use one coat, it will come off rather easily. However, I've been slathering this on, and it works wonders. I feel I have "normal" nails, but they are quick to split and break most days. I'm in food service, so I can't have any polish, technically, but I want my nails to be longer, so I use it since it's clear. It's been wonderful, even with all the handwashing. I applied two coats before I spent 2 weeks abroad in Japan, and my nails were all flawless, except by the end it had started to peel off, and the tiniest bit of splitting was evident. However, as soon as I arrived home, I brushed on two more coats, and no fuss!

This product may not be for everyone, but bottom line it's saved my nails, no questions asked. Besides that, it's a total value for under $4 a jar. I'm usually fond of higher-end brands, but I would MUCH rather get two of these for the price of one bottle of essie or OPI.

If you're consistent with its application, you won't be disappointed!

Honest reviews on Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Regular Nail Enamel - Clear - 0.45 oz

In an effort to put a stop my nail-biting routine, I decided to apply some clear nail polish to my fingernails every once in a while. While the polish does its job well (it doesn't taste awful but reminds me that I shouldn't bite my nails :P) it also comes off pretty easily. The layer of polish will consistently come off a couple days after its application, and is quite easy to peel off manually when it does. I suppose it would probably last longer when applied over another layer of nail polish, but still.
