I've been using this product for years and am sad that it is discontinued. I will, however, be buying it wherever I can for as long as I can because my nails are so healthy and strong when I use this. I always get compliments on my natural nails as they do not chip, peel, bend, or tear when using Teflon Tuff regularly. Bring it back Sally Hansen!

This is the only product I have used that actually does what I need it to. As a base coat, the polish doesn't peel, and as a top coat, the color doesn't fade and stays shiny. If I reapply every few days I can keep a home manicure for weeks. I have been searching every store I go in trying to find it. I believe I have read that they have discontinued it? That's a shame. I am almost afraid to give it such a high rating for fear that everyone else will buy up what is left out there. But that's OK, I bought 3 of them. That should hold me over for a while.

DISCONTINUED? I'm Heart Broken :'( A few years ago someone gave me a bottle of "Teflon Tuff". What a fantastic product! For me I applied one coat onto my bare nails & nothing else. I'm on the hunt now for anymore that might be lingering out there. "All I can say is bring it on back Sally Hansen"! & if not, it will forever be in my memory!

This stuff is great. I got a bottle of this about 2 years ago & I loved how it kept my color on my nails & not on the paper work I was working on at my job or the walls or anything else I might drag my nails acrossed. I stopped getting my nails done for about 8 years & the polish sat in my polish shoe box with a bunch of other stuff. A year ago I started having my nails done again. However, to get a full set of nail & one color cost me between $ 25.00 & $40.00 where ever I would go to get them done. Then I started coming home & doing my own "nail art" on my nails like I did when I was working. So, I started using the teflon again to keep the nail color & stones on my nails & off everything else they might touch. So, I started to see I was running low & the "Hunt was on" I looked every where to find 'teflon' for my nail. Regular clear top coat just wasn't getten it. So, I got on line with 'Amazon' the loves of my life (I wish the were a man) they have everything I could ever hope to find. So, I ordered another bottle. I have found that it is still just as it was 8 years ago & besides me, the friends nails that I do for fun, they love it too, & for the same resons. It keeps their art work & stones on their nails & off what ever it is that their working on & it also makes the nail art last longer, it makes their nails stronger. Thanks Amazon

For 95 cents I just had to try this, that and the fact that Carmindy from "What Not To Wear" designed it sold me. I received my makeup ahead of schedule & I love it! As I read in other reviews the sponge applicator is a pain to use, its great for applying the powder to the skin but I use a face powder brush to blend it in. Not too dark, feels fantastic on my skin & doesn't irritate me as some face powder have been know to do.

Cheap Sally Hansen Simple Spa Wax Refill Kit

I am one of those poor unfortunate women who can practically grow a full beard. Shaving gets ugly fast, plucking takes too long, and going to a salon all the time is pricey. I have tried quite a few different hair removal products at home and this one is my favorite. It's very affordable (each refill kit comes with two pots of wax, making each pot cost around 7.50 or 8 dollars). I've tried the heat in the microwave kits and some of those work well but can get really sticky. Some of those will wash off skin really well but can be difficult on other things like carpet, fabric, or even linoleum. Some of those microwave kits are not even easily washable off of skin, making leftover wax on the skin truly difficult to deal with and heaven help you if you get it on a porous surface.

So I will outline what I think are the pros and cons of this system:

Pros:

Works very well pulling out stubborn hair.

Comes with quite a few wooden sticks, more than I've ever needed.

Each pot comes with a lid and can be resealed between uses.

Once the wax has hardened it will come off of most surfaces by simply yanking it off.

Inexpensive compared to most other solutions.

Having used this system for over a year I can honestly say it has started thinning out my unwanted hair.

Cons:

Wax can take a while to heat. When a tub is full it can take forever to heat up (and I remove the rubber ring to make it go faster). By forever I mean an hour or more. When the tub gets smaller and after the wax has been heated once (even if it's nearly full still), it heats up much faster.

There is no "warm" setting. It's on or it's off so either it will continue to get hotter, burning you, or you turn it off and hope to go fast enough that it doesn't cool too much to not be used. The solution I found was to turn in on for a few moments and then off again. Not ideal though.

Overall great product. I've been using it for over a year now and because I am so satisfied I am not really looking for a new solution any time soon. Hope this helps!

I really like this product. It is very easy to use (you need the Sally Hansen Simple Spa wax warmer). Best of all, I don't need to mess with cloth strips.

I find that if I use latex gloves I don't even need an applicator. I just dip my fingers in the warmed wax and use them. It is much easier to do detail work, such as eyebrows, that way.

When this product came out (the warmer/wax kit) i was skeptical; in the past i had tried similar products and was disappointed. HOwever, i bought the wax warmer from Sally Hansen and was amazed at how similar it was to my spa experience. Granted i have been going to the spa for waxing for a long time, so i had absorbed techniques of using the wax, but the results were amazing. My only comment would be to be patient when warming the wax: the instructions say warm for 20 minutes; i find that it is double that. It should be easy to stir/scoop the wax when you use it if not, let it heat more. Also follow the tips in the instructions.

Regardless i was so happy with it that i went ahead and bought these refills for it as i expect to continue to use this kit to stretch out my visits to the spa for waxing.

I'm hooked on this product, have been using for just over a year. For some reason it has been difficult to find the refills at the stores now so I order several at a time. Some helpful advice: the black rubber ring around the tins is made to keep them from making direct contact with the heating surface. Down side is, it takes forever to heat the wax especially if it's a new tin. I take the ring off on just keep an eye on the wax checking in regularly and stirring it. Once it's melted enough I turn the heat off and turn it back on if I need to. It's really easier than it sounds, not as time consuming, melts the wax well and quickly. Hope this helped and enjoy smooth skin.

I've got nails that, with age or whatever have gone from strong to weak and splitting, so my old standard emery boards were tearing them to shreds. I found these and if I'm careful and don't get over enthusiastic about filing these do the job. I have to keep my nails fairly short, they're not nor have they ever been subjected to salon manicures and fake nail adhesive abuse, so I needed to find something that would work for natural nails few boards out there are made for natural nails. These are, and they're worth the 4 stars, and I'd say they're worth a try if you have fragile nails like mine. Pretty good files.

I've loved this makeup for years, and so sad to see it's no longer sold in stores. I've tried all types, including the most expensive and they don't come close. It never turns orange on your skin or looks cakey. Great for oily skin, also covers small imperfections, evening out skin tones.

As long as they don't hike the price up again on this stuff buy it!! It's the best kept secret out there. Found out about it from a friend & I tracked it down on line here. Who cares if we are tan or not. Isn't the bigger goal to have flawless skin? This stuff is great because it really absolutely does not come off on clothing etc. It's magical like that. It washes off in the shower with soap and water. It makes such a huge difference in how you look: wearing capris? spray your calves. RUb it in to even it out.... evening it out is easy to do with this stuff. Oh, I feel it runs a little dark (if you are very pale skinned like me) so don't buy it too dark.... although they do have one or two for "putting a glow on".... to me seems it looks better when you stay closest to your skin tone and use it to blend flaws and get a perfect look.

It's a great, fast, and easy beauty enhancer. I bought a triple of it because I love how it looks and don't want to worry about running out for a while. Enjoy it, I know you'll like this stuff too. It makes any exposed skin on your body look more even toned, glory, perfect but most people will not know you are wearing anything. It's just great stuff.

After reading reviews on different home wax products, each having 5 vs 1 star, I didnt know what to buy. Since I am on bedrest and being a waxer by salon only, I was very skeptical to begin with of these weak "sugar" waxes, thinking they would not work. I didnt want to wait for shipping, so I asked my husband to pick up any roll-on waxer, since I figured I didnt know which would be good anyway. This is the one he picked up. I have rather thick hair (spanish decent) however am a waxer, but still thick and quite hairy (making me more skepical). I followed the directions, heating the wax, actually to 15-20 seconds. The wax for the price worked amazingly!!! It took off hair just like in the salon (I had someone do it for me, easy though, roll direction of hair, rub paper and hold skin taut when you pull against hair growth). It was much less messier than using stick wax and sooo easy to wash off. Where have you been all my life? If you do it right, you wont have a problem. I am a fan!!!!!

This wax kit exceeded my expectations by far. It was so easy to use (as long as you read the directions) I heated it for 15 sec initially, but it was a bit tough to roll on (and the first rip did not pull off all the hair) so I did 10 more seconds...perfect. All the hair came out with just one rip for each section. For underarms, it usually takes two rips (top half upward and bottom half downward) and voila! Complete!

The wax in this system is also water soluble which makes clean up SO much easier than many other kits. I have used the Sally Hansen lavender home wax kit with similar results but it is more complicated to use, not water soluble, and because it is a tub of wax with a stick you have to stir the wax, it tends to get on stuff when you use it, whereas the roll-on was a total breeze to use and clean up. The roller also helps spread the wax more uniformly than the stick.

Oh and since the wax is water soluble when they say you can reuse the strips they mean it! Just rinse with lukewarm water and rub a little wax and hair cleans right off. Hang over a towel or something to dry ta-da...no more buying new strips!

This is a great product for those out there that want a smoother body. I have no problem epilating my legs, but this is a MUST HAVE if you want a smooth chest, belly and bikini line. I use each strip 3 times in a row without a problem but then you do need to throw them in a bowl of hot water and wash them. Let them dry and then back to the waxing! Would like to see the package come with more strips than what is included, but you can get buy with what they send. Just plan ahead and work in small sections!!

If you have high expectations for this product, you will be disappointed. However, I was looking for a convenient at home roll on wax, and this is it. It does not get all of the hairs in one try. Also, the paper strips that come in the package are not particularly effective. I use muslin strips from Sally's. Nevertheless, the wax heats nicely in the microwave and rolls on easily.

Bought this because it was recommended by some magazine/beauty product reviewer as one of the best home wax kits for brazilian wax -FAIL. TERRIBLE product for bikini/brazilian wax. Does not grip hair, leaves ingrowns and even infected follicles. Even after multiple applications, over 60% of the hair remained unremoved -with sticky wax stuck all over it. I also tried it 3 times to make sure I wasn't just using it incorrectly -3rd time was not a charm. Awful experience everytime.

I've tried it on underarms as well, and it works a little better but still had the same fundamental problems.

Nice that it is easy to apply in a thin layer with the roller applicator and that it washes off easily with water, but what use is all that if it doesn't serve its primary function to get the hair off.

I have mixed feelings about Sally Hansen Salon Effects. I like Sally Hansen products in general. I used "Animal Instinct" nail polish strips and the strips look very sharp on my nails and like I had a professional manicure. However, I was totally taken aback by the smell real nail polish doesn't smell as bad as the strips although the smell does go away quickly. For me the difficult part was applying the strips. It wasn't hard to find the appropriate size but I had a hard time peeling the backing off the strips and filing the strips down. It took me a lot longer than I wanted to apply the strips. I was pleased with the results but prefer something a bit easier to apply.
