I have always had trouble with my nails breaking or peeling and while I've tried many products to make them stronger, many only make them harder without fortifying. When your nails become hard with no elasticity, it actually makes breaks more frequent.

However, this product introduces nylon to the formula and you can clearly feel/see it once the product dries which preserves nail elasticity. When your nails can bend, they won't break as easily.

This product works well as a topcoat and gives you a nice sheen, but not so well as a base. The thicker formula can be a little difficult to put on smoothly.

Also, rather than chipping, this nail polish peels. I found that once the polish started peeling, I couldn't help from peeling it off even further and it would often come off in large chunks, if not completely, which left my nails looking dull or left odd spots without polish. This is definitely a product which has to be taken off completely and redone periodically rather than just having a fresh coat painted over.

Overall, this is a good product with a few minor annoyances.

My polish has lasted up to 4 days with only minor chips with this polish as a base. I LOVE IT!!

This product dries quickly, that's the good news. However, it is ineffective. I used this as a base coat and top coat for two months and it did not prevent my nails from yellowing. It does not prevent your nails from chipping, nor does it give your polish a high shine. If you want something that does all that, try professional nail treatments, or go to the store and buy L'Oreal base coat. It works wonders.

I am a CNA (certified nursing aide) so I always have to wash my hands and where gloves about 30 times a day. This does sooo much damage to my nails and they are so brittle that I can't even think about wanting medium length nails again.

But after this product, my nails have definitely improved and can be grown out longer than before because they stay crack-free and I don't have to clip them.

PS: I also take Biotin (a supplement) which helps nail growth (for me it doesn't help brittleness, only length) so when I use this product and take Biotin my nails look great.

After removing gel nail extensions, I needed something to protect my nails from splitting, peeling, chipping, etc. for a couple months. This wasn't it. I used this product following the directions for 2 weeks. It couldn't even make it a day without chipping off -and I wasn't hard on my nails. One shower and the tips are all peeling. It also didn't prevent ANY splitting or peeling for my nails. The finish isn't smooth either. It's a complete waste of money whether you order it through Amazon at this price or buy it in you local drug/big box store. I've ordered OPI Nail Envy and will write a review after I've given it a try.

i had a cheap revlon eyelash curler from the drugstores (curled great... Until it broke). I bought another one from Kroger, The Mirra brand and it has black pads... Horrible!!! My eyelashes get stuck in the pad and it I just horrible. So my friend came over an we were getting ready to go To a party and I asked her if I could use her eyelash curler (she had this Sallly Hansen eyelash curler) I fell in love with it!! It may pinch a little bit... But Hey, beauty is pain! Great results... I loved it so much she let me keep it. So I'm buying this one for her cause I know she loved it too!!!

I was pretty sure the claims made for this product were inflated but since I have been seeking any solution to my inability to do my left hand, I thought what the heck. If nothing else, I can have someone apply it like I always end up doing. No need! This stuff is amazing. It glides on, stays put, looks shiny and doesn't have a streak or a wobble to mar the perfect surface. My only complaint is that the pen isn't yet available in many colors that I want -hopefully soon this will replace all those stupid bottles and brushes that stack up on the dresser unused.

i buy a lot of sally hansen products, this one didn't hit the mark

maybe it was just the color, and it is the only pencil type polish i have ever tried

just had an unattrative look about it when dry.

A good idea and works (to a certain extent) but not the product for me. Unlike regular polish and does take a little while to dry. Gave to a friend who wanted to try it.

This product worked pretty well, although more than one coat is need. A top coat is also a must. However, it is great if you just want to do your nails quick.

Also you have to make sure you're patient and take your time while applying, think you're having a day out at the spa entirely to yourself, do your nails, hair and all that jazz. Here are some tips, if you have trouble with application.. :O) I love the convenience of the Sally strips, and no longer pay for expensive manicures when these are so easy, quick, and cute!

1. These polish strips work best on short nails

2. Practice, don't think the 1st time will be perfect

3. I found that starting with my pinkie and using my thumb to press along the edge of my entire nail works better than the stick in the package.

4. I only use the file on the tip of my nail, any other smoothing can be done with your thumb

5. If your nails are short, you can stretch the strip over one nail, and use the leftover for another nail (whichever one it fits..say you cover your index, use the excess on your pinkie. I can do my hands & toes with one box. And Amazon has the best price!

6. Once you get them all on, finish with a quick clear coat. :)

I can't say enough about Sally Hansen nail strips (and Incoco nail strips)! Finally, I can have painted nails! My nails are thin and any nail polish I used chipped within two days sometimes they chipped in less than one day. I bought these based on the reviews and I had very low expectations, I think because what works for most people's nails usually doesn't work for me.

Honestly, the first trial didn't go well. They chipped almost immediately around the edges, but it wasn't terribly noticeable because of the pattern. The rest of the polish stayed on nicely.

The second trial was much betterI learned how to smooth the edges better so no chips. After 7 applications, I thought I'd write a review it's FOR REAL!!!

WHAT I LIKE:

*Nails last at least 7 days (they probably last longer, but I have to keep my nails very short for my sport, so I have to change nail polish once a week)

*The patterns make my short nails look feminine

*They are instantly dry no waking up in the morning with smudges!!!

*They are affordable I get TWO applications from each box because my nails are short

THE DOWNSIDE:

*Taking the nail polish off is a process have plenty of nail polish remover on hand and patience, too.

*Putting the nail strips on takes longer than painting nails. (If you count dry-time the strips are faster than regular polish, but the application time is longer.)

SALLY HANSEN VS. INCOCO

*Sally Hansen's strips come in TWO separate pouches, so I can have two applications. Incoco's strips come in one pouch that can be resealed. Sometimes the second set can dry out and not work.

*Sally Hansen's strips are often available on Prime so you can get them faster (and cheaper) than Incoco's strips

*Incoco's big advantage is tasteful designs. Some are just gorgeous. I'm a 40+ woman and am not interested in skulls and tattoo art on my fingers. Most of Sally Hansen's patterns are targeted at teens. Incoco's designs are beautiful and more appropriate for women.

TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION

*Make sure the room is WARM. I turn on a space heater.

*Once you have the polish in place, smooth it down well with your fingers.

*Make sure to smooth the tips well any rough edges will "catch" on fabric and chip

*Apply a clear top coat within 24 hours.

*Apply a second top coat after 3 or 4 days.

I needed to stock up on spring/summer nail polish colors and I have a few other polishes from the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line that I absolutely love. I decided to get this gorgeous color (Lacey Lilac). I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it out for the first time. After putting on two coats and a clear top coat, my nails looked amazing. This is the perfect pastel purple for spring/summer. It dries quickly and I've had it on for almost a week now and it hasn't chipped at all! (That is a miracle in itself because with 2 kids and me doing dishes, cleaning, playing outside with the kids, etc. it's inevitable that my nail polish will start to chip. This polish hasn't though, and I'm very surprised.) I have a ton of nail polish, and this is definitely my new favorite. I can't wait to buy more colors from this line. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a gorgeous, pigmented, pastel color and is looking for a fast dry nail polish. This is a great product for someone that works a lot or doesn't have much free time. You can just paint your nails, wait 2 minutes, and you're good to go. I am 110% satisfied with my purchase.

Very good formula, only took 2 coats for completely smooth opaque finish. The color is so soft an feminine, I almost thought I couldn't pull it off (lol) but it's such a great pastel.

This is my very favorite color! This Xtreme Wear nail polish by Sally Hansen is just great. It will last two weeks if you add ridge filler underneath it. I have no wearing, no peeling, and no chipping. You must also put a good top coat on. I recommend it highly.

If you like purple, buy this! I get so many compliments on the color. It lasts a week or more if you use it with the top/bottom clear coats, and two coats of color. It's purple, but doesn't jump out at you. It is the same level of color as my skin, so it gives an even impression. Great for "older" hands.
