I have been using this product for a while--and it is getting increasingly difficult to find in stores. It is SO much less expensive than going to the spa for a leg wax, and it is very effective at removing hair. I would say that each jar gives me about 3 waxes-provided that I have enough strips left-although it gets a bit less effective as I get down towards the bottom of the jar & I have to keep reheating to keep it from getting to glue-y. I also find it to not be irritating at all--I'm not sure if the oil that comes with it actually does something, or if the wax itself is just more gentle.

Forgot to Mention: The purple oil that comes with the wax is also about the only thing that will help REMOVE the wax once it's on something. I've gotten it off of glass, my skin/ nails, and a ceramic counter by pouring on a little wax and then rubbing it off with my hands/ scratching it off with my nail. I dont know if it would work miracles on clothes or other fabrics as well, but its best you dont try to tempt fate!!

I typically have to reheat the wax 2 or 3 times during the waxing process because I find it most effective when the wax is somewhat thin. I agree that it is a serious pain to clean up--if you get it on any clothes/furniture, etc, forget about it. I always sit on the same towel when I wax my legs, and no matter how many times i wash it, the purple stains remain. So be careful.

I used to go to a spa every month to get my legs waxed. Shaving irritated my skin too much and hair removal creams didn't have the long lasting effect that results from waxing (plus it's very messy!).

After trying several brands of home waxing kits, Sally Hansen's Lavender kit has become my preferred choice because it has the best value when it comes to price and effectiveness.

Why I like this product:

One tub of wax easily lasts through two full waxings (arms AND legs) plus several minor waxes (underarm and face).

Compared to other brands (like Nair's microwavable wax) this one is strong enough to remove short or thin hairs without repeat applications.

The formula has a pleasant smell and is gentle enough so as not to cause prolonged irritation (you will get redness after the wax, but the oil helps soothe your skin faster).

After prolonged use, the hair will grow thinner or even stop growing in some areas!

Complains about this product:

Like it has been stated before, it is a mission to clean up the wax once it's spilled on clothing, countertops, or other surfaces; just try to be extra careful when applying.

I wouldn't recommend this wax if you're planning to wax deep in the bikini area... you need to make sure your skin is taut during application and once the wax is stuck there clean up is not as easy as soap and water. For this kind of waxing seek a pro (or a talented friend).

The wax needs constant reheating. I also used to be annoyed about having to run back to the microwave during waxing, but that was finally solved by placing the wax tub on a candle jar warmer Ganz Inc EJ6826 Jar Candle Warmer. Heat up the wax once, then place it on the warmer and it will keep the right consistency.

Not enough strips. Even if you are reusing the strips as much as possible, you will probably fall short on sheets. Just buy an extra pack of strips at your local beauty supply, like SALLY'S. I use these GIGI Large Muslin Strips 100-ct. 9" x 3".

The jar lid gets stuck. Just don't try to screw it back on... once you've used the product, tap it on so u know it's closed and store the container in an upright position.

This wax is a painful sticky mess that rips off skin. I thought my technique was off, so I bought some hot wax because I could not stand having one waxed armpit because this wax ripped the skin off and it was too painful to continue. Needless to say the hot wax (strip free) was AMAZING! I have one raw red armpit (from this product) and one baby smooth irritation free armpit (from the hot wax). Buy strip free hot wax!!

Honest reviews on Sally Hansen Lavender Spa Wax Remover Kit For Body

I am no professional with waxing and I don't do it all the time because it is a mess and a lot of work but when I do, this is the only product I will use. My complaints about this product are that it is pretty hard to find, there aren't enough strips and the removal oil is not great. Also it is a mess but I haven't come across any similar product that isn't... its wax and wax is messy! The things I love are the smell, the color and that it is very effective when used correctly!

A few tips for anyone new to using this product, (Read the directions first of course!)...

1.) Have extra strips available (Nair has them). Pre-cut the strips if you are doing smaller areas... you don't want to have to struggle with this while playing in wax!

2.) Have oil and cotton balls to remove the wax available (I use vitamin E oil) and a trash bag to dispose of them and the wax strips.

3.) Setup an area where you are going to use this in advance. Make sure it is clean, neat and that you don't have carpeting or clothing in the area where this is going to be used... smooth surfaces only! If you are doing a large area like your legs you are going to have to reheat the wax and you don't want to track wax across your house to the microwave so have flip flops or old socks available to slip on.

4.) After your skin is clean apply some powder, this will keep your skin from bonding with the wax and you will be less likely to rip your skin off. This is one of the most important tips IMO.

5) Don't overheat the wax and don't continue to use it when it cools down and gets thicker.. reheat! Also don't apply too thick of wax or the strip won't bond with all of the wax and when you pull, it will HURT!

6.) Don't go over the same area you have already waxed or you are going to have severe redness and maybe even bleeding... take your time and get it right the first time.

**UPDATE** --July,16,2010--

Nearly a year later now.... I'm Increasing the rating for this product from 4 stars to 5 because it seems to be the most effective. Really messy but it works well if used Correctly! So far its either Sally Hansen Spa Body Wax Lavender for me or Shaving, nothing else seems to make the cut (although I'm always looking for an easier solution). Recently I bought the "Braun 5270 Silk-épil X'elle Body System Epilator" and "Moom Organic Hair Removal Kit, Tea Tree, 6-Ounce Package" and although both are very different products, they both had the same end result.. Too Long Of A Wait! With Sally Hansen Spa Body Wax Lavender, I can almost wax as soon as I see the hair and the hairs gone for a while .. with no repeating. It's the most effective hair removal I have found.

Sally Hansen makes some good products, but this is not one of them. The wax is super-sticky, and impossible to remove neatly. It left my skin super-irritated and red for days. Avoid at all costs!

Sally Hansen Gem Crush Nail Color Reviews

This is a stunning nail polish. It is basically a clear base that is packed with silver microglitter and a little bit larger chunks of turqoise glitter. It makes me think of a snowflake or a snow storm. The formulation of this polish tends to vary based on color. In this particular color, the polish is thicker and provides perfect full coverage with two coats. It also dries really quickly. The only downside is that it does tend to chip and peel off quite easily. Even applying a top coat does not seem to effect the wear, it just does not stay on as well as I would like. Overall though, I really like this polish. It is much less expensive than similar glitters that I have seen, so I am willing to deal with reapplying.

I love the designs incoco offers, but every single product I have purchased are almost dried out, which makes them difficult to apply. I've even had to use nail glue to get them to stick. And you cannot keep unused one for later. They will crack in half. I'll stay with Essie and Sally Hansen. I get much more mileage out of those...

I have been using incoco for a few years and they have been very good,

This particular one did not work well at all. Very disappointed.

Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

I recently purchased several colors of the Sally Hansen nail art pens and was very much looking forward to getting creative with my nails (without spending a fortune at a nail salon). I was very pleased and impressed with my end results. I decided to do a french manicure using a lavender polish and the white nail pen for the tips. I also thought I might try a simple flower design on one finger. The pros of the product are as follows: water based so mistakes were really simple to wipe off and start over, the tip is hard so it's very easy to control the flow, the color was solid and bright. The cons: because it's water based you need two or three coats to get the full opacity, and if you wait too long to wipe off a mistake there will be a faint stain of where the color was.

It definitely takes practice and patience. But once you master it, the results are worth it.

I bought it at a discount store a while back. It is very addictive and it makes the lips feel so smooth!!!

Why is this awesome stuff so hard to find?! I have tried so many lip products that didn't help my cracking, bleeding, dry lips. Tried this once and was hooked! I put it on every night before bed. Feels a little waxy at first but I wake up with perfect, smooth lips and don't have to apply anything else all day. I don't use anything else if I can avoid it, and I sure know if I forget one night. I'll be stockpiling.

After being a faithful Burt's Bees and Alba lip-products-user for almost a year, my lips had reactions to both, so I needed an everyday balm that had neither and I stumbled on this gem. I was sold when I saw it had Vitamin E in it, and I have heard great things about Vitamin E for the skin and lips. I am very pleased!

PROS****PROS****

-Great/Subtle Shine!

-Colorless (No, it won't appear yellow on your lips!)

-Long-lasting (so you use less!)

-See-Through Container (so you can easily tell when its all done!)

-No beeswax nor petroleum (PERFECT!)

-Soothing and Smells GRRRREAT

CONS***CONS****

-None so far

So far, this is the ONLY product I use on my lips. I have lost all reactions to the old products I used to use and these have healed my lips tremendously! I am getting ready to stockpile on these! Thanks Sally ;-)

The light glow is nice. It has some sparkle in it which surprised me. I bought a smaller can a year ago that did NOT have that effect. (which was better) But, all and all, I will keep using it since 'stockings' are kind of "OUT" of style. This helps to diminish the varicose veins a bit and I've had people ask if I had stockings on. :-)

Don't expect it to fully cover those dark veins...this just reduces the severity of them. I still strongly recommend it though.

READ THE DIRECTIONS......!!!! It is NOT to be sprayed on the legs like an air brush. That's just the name and the effect it gives. You spray a small puddle in your palm and work it all over the legs. You can spray it direction on the legs if you want, but you still have to smooth it all over like a lotion.

Also, it dries and 'sets' nicely, but some of the color wears off on white socks a little, so don't sit on your Grandmother's white sofa. ;-)

Just some hints to help you enjoy the product more.

-I am a light skinned hispanic and I am closer to neutral tones. Sometimes my legs look down right pasty, sometimes I have a tan, (occasionally from the sun, usually from sunless tanning sprays) so my color changes and I've also noticed my arms are always darker than my legs. (I am sure this is normal, I hope this is normal..)

-In my opinion, all three offer great coverage. Given the limited amount of product shades available versus the abundance of different skin colors that vary from person to person, and even vary in one individual due to sun exposure or tanning products, its a safe bet that most will not find their perfect color in one bottle. If you want the closest match, you will have to do some color mixing.

AIRSTOCKINGS:

PROS:

-Very little to no transfer:

CONS:

-Color doesn't seem natural to me. Too pink.

SUMMARY:

-If it wasn't for the color issue, it would be my favorite.

COLOR:

-They offer three colors. Listed from light to dark: Natural, Terra Cotta and Bronze.

-I've used all three. Colors seem to have more of a pinkish tone, this is great if you have cool coloring. Right now the natural is the closest of these that match and its a little too dark, just a tad, but when blended in, its not THAT obvious. When I am darker, I mix the terra cotta in a little. Its harder to mix because it dries faster (like the Nyce Instant Nylons) so you have to work fast.

-Their colors are my least favorite, they just don't look natural on me. The Natural shade by itself makes my legs look pink from afar and the shade is too different from the color of my arms.

APPLICATION:

-Says to spray on legs then use your hands to blend it in and they advise you let set for 1-2 minutes. I guess it has the potential to rub off in that time. Regardless of how long it takes to "set", it dries pretty fast and to mix the colors you have to work fast.

TRANSFERABILITY:

-Beats the Sally Hansen hands down. I've sat on black leather seats on a hot day, resulting in my legs sweating and saw no transfer. Downright impressive.

Sally Hansen Airbrush Leg Light Glow :

PROS:

-Nice colors (a little on yellow side)

-Of the three, offer best color selection (5 shades vs. 3)

-Easy to mix colors.

-Easy application.

CONS:

-Color transfer, of the three the most easily rubbed off.

SUMMARY:

-Nice colors but don't like that it transfers so easily. I used it for a long time but after trying the Nyce and Airstockings, my expectations have been raised.

COLOR

-They have five colors. Listed from light to dark: Nude Glow, Light Glow, Medium Glow, Tan Glow and Deep Glow.

-Ive used their Nude Glow, Light Glow and even Medium Glow depending on the color of my legs. Right now, being winter, my legs are pretty white and the closest match is the Nude Glow. The Light Glow is too dark and looks too orange on my skin. When my legs are tanner, I've mixed the Nude Glow with the Light Glow and even the Light Glow with the Medium Glow but I am rarely that tan.

-I prefer the colors of the Sally Hansen because they seem more natural, although a tad more on the yellow/orange side, and they have a better color selection. More colors, better odds of finding one that matches your skin color without mixing.

APPLICATION:

-Directions say to spray on hands, then apply to legs and blend, then let set 60 seconds. I've done it both ways. Sprayed on hands, sprayed on legs. I end up blending the color on my legs either way so the results are the same but I guess there is less product getting everywhere if you do it directly on hands. This brand has been the easiest to mix colors with.

TRANSFERABILITY:

-This isn't as good as the other two when it comes to transfer. It doesn't all rub off like makeup but, of the three, it rubs off the most and if you are sitting in your car on a hot day or just by sliding out, you will see some on your car seat...and your clothes. If you have black leather seats, sit on a towel or something you don't mind getting dirty....

Nyce Legs Spray On Instant Nylons Nail Treatment Products

PROS:

-Little to no transfer:

-Neutral colors (It leans towards yellowish but, to me, more of an in between of the Airstockings pink tones and Sally Hansen yellow tones)

CONS:

-Bottles clog.

-Dries very fast.

SUMMARY:

-if it wasn't for the clogged bottle issue, it would be my favorite.

COLOR:

-Offers three colors as well. Listed from light to dark: Nude, Medium Beige and Dark Beige.

-I've tried the Nude and Medium Beige. Right now I use the nude and this is pretty close to my skin tone. I find that its not too orange and not too pink, it sits somewhere in the middle. When I am darker, I mix it in with the Medium Beige. This brand is harder to mix colors because of the fast dry time.

APPLICATION:

-Says to spray on legs and dries in 10 seconds (sounds about right..). This is what makes it harder to mix, you have to work fast (faster than 10 seconds....)

-The one thing I did not like was that the three bottles i've purchased have clogged at one point or another before I was finished with them. Two I managed to salvage. Once they clogged the first time, it became a repetitive issue, I keep having to clean the caps. I do this by dunking them in a mixture of water and facial cleanser, let it soak then use an old toothbrush to brush it clean. (I just got an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner so I am going to try dunking it in that next.) Sometimes i have to clean it during application which is very inconvenient, especially when I am mixing colors.

TRANSFERABILITY:

-Comparable to Airstockings, I saw little to no transfer.

MIXING COLORS:

-Mixing Nyce and Airstockings still gives a nice color with very little to no transfer.

-Mixing the Airstockings with Sally Hansen gives the nicest color (for me) and yields less transfer but there is still transfer nonetheless so I avoid using but when I am out of the either the Airstockings or Nyce, I will and just be more careful with transfer.

-I usually do a 50/50 mix just because its easier to spray them on my legs at the same time and can get consistent color through out, then blend them in quickly.

FINAL THOUGHTS

-Overall, I prefer to use the Airstockings and Nyce Instant Nylons to get the color I want, its a happy medium for me. If you find airstockings to pink, neutralize it, lighten or darken it with Nyce colors. If you find Nyce Colors too yellow, neutralize, lighten or darken with Airstockings and you, too, will find your happy medium. Although the lack of transfer is impressive, I'd still be wary and wouldn't push my luck. I have had some rub off on clothes but not sure if its because I didn't give it enough time to dry. Because I mixed them, I can't pin point which one it was. I have all the colors I mentioned I've tried except for the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Nude Glow, if I figure out how to add a picture, I'll add a picture of a sample of each on my leg to see the color differences.

You should read the instructions before you use the product. It is not

supposed to be sprayed on legs directly. That's when it clogs up, because you're trying to use it at different angles.

You are supposed to spray it on your hands and then rub it on your legs.

Works just fine like that.

My niece used this and when I saw her I commented on how tan and flawless her legs looked. Almost like she was wearing pantyhose, but she wasn't. She told me what it was and I ran out and bought some. We are both pale girls and the light glow works the best. Not too dark and not too light. Hides imperfections, since I have some slight sun damage on my legs. I love it. It also gives you a nice healthy glow. Perfect for summer legs! Now I know what the stars use!!

I used to just love Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. And I still like it alot, but something has changed. I noticed that there was a "NEW FORMULA" sticker or something like that on my most recent purchases. And I have wasted about three cans of this stuff because after about four or five uses, the aeorosol clogs up and will not spray. At $11 to $12 per can, that is pretty wasteful to me.

Problem for me is that I haven't found an alternative that is comparable, when it's working properly.

What a fun product! So, so easy to apply and a plethora of fun designs.Though, the only up to 7 days, it's still worth a try. I believe most people will be satisfied using this product, especially in a pinch. Besides, who wears the same polish for even 7 days??? Reason for the 4 star rating, it doesn't live up to the "up to 10 days" description. At the very outside, 7 days. I like it enough to recommend it.

Would far rather have had my local salon do a manicure for roughly the same price. It took forever to apply these, and the end result still looked worse than freehanding tips. to top it off, i highly doubt these are going to last anywhere near ten days. I dont know what all the fuss about these things is other than no drying time. Could have bought a bottle of salon quality polish at this price and had enough for twenty manicures. The cost on these cannot be justified.
