I do stained glass as a hobby, and it is incredibly hard on my hands. I call them my "Man Hands". My cuticles often look so beat up and awful I'm ashamed of them. Out of desperation, I recently bought this from the local drugstore. I couldn't believe the difference after using it for just four or five days. I wish I could post before and after pictures, because before they were cracked, peeling, and bleeding, and now they look normal and healthy. Just when I thought I was going to die of terminal hangnails, I discovered this VitaSurge Cuticle Gel. My cuticles showed immediate improvement after just one use and after a week, they were smooth and healthy looking. The gel absorbs quickly and is non greasy.

I'm a professional gardener and my hands take a lot of punishment from dirt and water. No matter how diligently I tried to be kind to my hands with creams, oils and thick grease such as shea butter, lanolin and vaseline, my cuticles were always dry and ragged. I have only used this for a couple or three days. I bought it at the store, but wanted to review online since I just bought a new cuticle oil on Amazon. (Sun Oil)

I have used it a couple or so times a day. I used to bite my nails and when I get stressed I stil pick at my cuticles and I live in a dry climate. It works okay as far as possibly healing my cuticles. Again I haven't used it that long.

However, it is sticky, which was what I first noticed. I would prefer an oil to something sticky. This might have been ignored if it was only the base of my cuticle that needed help, however the sides of my nail beds also get really dry, so the gel gets more near my fingertips which is irritating for it being sticky.

The second thing I noticed is that my cuticles and nails have an orange tint now. (I already have a topcoat on my nails prior to starting this.) But the skin has started to turn orange like the gel and under my nails a little. I think it has mostly tinted the dry skin, but still it looks like I have been eating oranges every day or something. Gross!

Therefore it seems like this one will go in the trash as soon as my new oil arrives later this week. I would rather use something than nothing but I may also toss this and just keep on things with my hand cream.

This product worked great from the 1st application. My only complaint is the applicator, but I just used a different tool to apply the gel & it worked great. Highly recommended for dry cuticles

I was pretty skeptical about this I didn't really see how a gel would noticeably heal by dry and abused cuticles but after the first day I noticed my cuticles looking smoother and less inflamed. I'm pleased, the price was good and it really does seem to work well. As a bonus, it has a pleasant scent and leaves my nail-beds feeling wonderfully moisturized.

If you want your cuticles to look healthier, give this a try.

I had acrylic nails for many years, and was afraid of how weak my nails would be when I decided to go "au naturale" a few years ago. I quickly discovered this brand at the drug store, and have been amazed at how strong my nails have become. I usually use the clear/slightly tinted color, which stays on great for almost two weeks. And I'm pretty rough on my nails never use gloves for cleaning or gardening. For some reason, the Hard as Wraps polish is getting really difficult to find in stores, maybe because I've noticed that Sally Hansen is now offering gel polishes. I was so pleased to find this on Amazon, and the seller's pricing and free shipping were a great plus!

It is no different from the other nail strengthener I've purchased. I was hoping for more, however after using this for a couple of weeks, my nails are still soft and peeling. Sally Hanson usually has very good nail products, but this one missed the mark. No improvement in my nails or their condition.

My nails have always been very prone to peeling and brittleness. I have a job that's hard on my hands, and I could never get my nails to look decent for any amount of time. I used lots of creams and base coats, but nothing stopped my nails from peeling and breaking.

I recently bought the Sally Hansen Miracle Cure for Severe Problem Nails and used it as directed. Three weeks later, my nails look great! This polish is a new experience. As one reviewer said, it does seem to soak in as well as sit on top. I could feel it and when it dried, I saw no sign of the dry, peeling areas I know my nails currently have. I bought this at a local drugstore as an emergency treatment for having committed the unpardonable sin of peeling off my nail polish. Took quite a bit of nail plate with it. I knew I was doing wrong but just couldn't seem to stop myself.

Anyway, the box even says that it is free of the big three so don't be scared to try it simply because it used to contain formaldehyde. But keep in mind, this is a strengthener, not a hardener. My nails are not hard but they are flexible. Even without the abuse I just put them through, my nails are somewhere between hard and soft but they are dry with areas of sometimes severe peeling. They also have vertical ridges and one of them has started to split vertically even though I don't see much of a ridge in the area. Acetone does tend to dry them out, which is why I try to use something less harsh unless I'm taking off glitter. I've used other products that are supposed to be moisturizing but I can still see the dry, peeling areas after application. This is the first time my nails actually look healthy and whole. I'm anxious to see just how long they'll grow using this.

It's doubtful that this will permanently heal the dry, peeling areas. Nails are dead once they see daylight so repair has got to take place before the nail actually forms. This is more likely a product to be used on a continual basis or whatever problems the product is helping will likely return if it's no longer being used.

For now, though, I'm loving this stuff and thankful that there is a way of protecting my poor, abused nails while the damage grows out.

Update: 04/16/13 I can now say that this product works just like it says it does but there is one catch you have to continue using it or your nails will revert to their old ways. Which is fine for me because I always use two coats of base coat anyway so I just make this one the first base coat then put my sticky base coat on top.

Once my nails got as long as I thought I wanted, I did stop using it. As soon as I did that, they started peeling and breaking again. In fact, if I don't put it right back on after removing my old polish, the next time they are expose to water for more than a simple hand washing, the trouble starts. Sometimes even after the simple hand washing.

Also, it does tend to thicken up as you use it but polish thinner fixes that right up.

I'm still loving this product for the protection it gives my nails but be aware that it will not change your nails permanently. Only proper, consistent care can do that.

I had a split running down the middle of my nail that caught on everything, ripping it down to the quick. As soon as I used this, the split sealed up and hasn't ripped. My nail has even grown above the quick in the 2 weeks I have been using this. I used to get gel applications as the salon to help me with the split in my nail, but that got to be too expensive. I would recommend giving it a try if you have problem nails. Just a minor complaint I have with this product. After application, tiny little bubbles form preventing a clear look.

I have been using Sally Hansen's nail polish products for a long time, and recently, the "Maximum Growth" line. But the clear polish used to have a nice pink tinge to it, now it is clear and yellow. It would go on clear and then turn yellowish, and was drying out the bare nail surface, etc. So I decided to try the "Miracle Cure for Severe Problem Nails" clear polish. Instructions say just use one coat on bare nails, or use as a base coat. The single coat stays on long, doesn't yellow, chip. Two thin coats will last an entire week. It dries fast and stays shiny too. BUT most importantly this "miracle cure" does not have toluene and formaldehyde that dries out the nails and causes peeling and chipping. And it must have the right stuff because my nails are in great condition, strong, and look great.

I am now getting it sent monthly as an add-on item with the automatic shipping plan (15% discount!). And any other old nail polish can be used for stopping stocking runs.

All formaldehyde nail products work if not over used. For people with very thin, peeling nails you can wind up with a worse problem after a few weeks. Best to do a one week on, three weeks off program. I use no more than once every eight weeks. Formaldehyde works by binding the nail keratin fibers of the nail, but over-use leads to extreme drying of the nail bed. Then after a few weeks of what looks like a great response, the nails will begin to peel even worse. I spent months correcting for over use. (Finally got better with DermaNail the dermatologist recommended.) A little is good, but be wary. Also nails need heavy moisturizing at least twice a day, even more for thin, peeling nails.

This product produces results at first. It goes on smoothly and it's indeed very effective. However, after three to four weeks of happily continued use as a base under nail polish, I am stunned at the poor health of my nails. I have _never_ had nails split so much on me before. My nails went from decently long to thin barely longer than the quick nails. And to think I only wanted my nails a little stronger. I'm not talking about splitting at the ends of my nails: I mean lifting layers down an eight of an inch or more. Neither nail glue nor down to the quick clipping will stop the lifting. ARGH!!! After some web searching, I found that the alcohols in nail hardeners are actually drying the nail so much, that the nail layers do lift after the initial nail hardening. This is apparently true in most if not all nail hardeners even those without formaldehyde or toluene. The alcohol content in nail polish is not comparatively significant (phew!). In the future, I'll stick to a strong top coat (like the Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat best product on the market hands down) and make sure my nail ends are smooth to prevent any possible splitting and continue moisturizing.

When I received this in the mail my nails were on the verge of breaking very soon. I thought that this would be the ultimate test, put the nail polish on to see if it would stop my nails from breaking. They took a little getting used to applying and there is a time investment my nails became so long and sexy and were not damaged by the glue so I decided to do without these because of the time involved and my nails began to peel, break and all that un fun stuff so here I am again applying them on each nail so I can get them long and strong again worth the effort and you will save a lot of $$ by doing them yourself

Overall I like this product and would use again. It took a few tries to get it to fit on my nail properly and not stick or be bumpy. Also best used if there is only a slight crack in the nail and not too far in or the nail will just continue to break anyway. Once you get the hang of it and apply polish, cannot tell there is anything there. Overall good product and works much better than sticking a bandaide on your nail until it grows out.

If you watch Carmindy from TLC's What Not To Wear as religiously as I do she always sprays this wonderful light and airy foundation on a sponge and then applies it. I tried it the same way she does and it worked perfectly. It's magic. I will never leave the house without it. It never feels heavy and it lasts all day. You must try it but don't follow the can directions and spray it in your hand listen to Carmindy on the show. I also sprayed it on my bad leg veins and they disappeared.

I'm a professional makeup artist and foundation is hands down the most difficult quality product to find, especially for each individual's needs and desires. let me say this product is perfect.

I recommend spraying just a tiny bit on to a kabuki brush, then apply to a freshly washed and moisturized face (and you are in denial if you think those steps don't make a difference). I personally like to do one side of the face at a time, then the center (nose, forehead, chin). spray a little -applyspray a little -apply.

why I love it:

-can be light (super natural, look like you're wearing nothing) -tofull (completely flawless) coverage.

-super lightweight, doesn't feel like you have anything on (even @ full flawless coverage)

-fast and easy, no joke ANYONE can pull off the steps I listed above, n look/feel great in less than a minute!

-inexpensive. please consider that the closest equivalent that I've found, taking into account all the factors above and quality is Dior's airbrush foundation that is $60!!! (that's 4 Dior bottles for the price of one Sally Hansen)

-no issues. as I said earlier foundations are the trickiest item for purchase in the make up world... some disappear within hrs, some too heavy, too light, too dewy, too matte, make you look oily or dry, product seperates over time, product breaks down (oxidizes) and color changes, allergies, etc etc

-lastly the #1 issue with foundation is finding the right color, my best advice is initially narrow down the range to the 3 you think you'd fall under. after only considering those 3, choose the one that looks like the WORST match and take it out of the running (it's much easier to choose the worst than the best). now you have 2 to choose from, you can pick from here (read the shade description, see which matches your jaw line best). don't stress itif you take it home and it's a bit light or dark you will know to just try one shade lighter or darker, and depending where you bought it, if you save the receipt and packaging you might be able to exchange it if need be!

I just bought this because I love Carmindy on WNTW and I see she uses this all the time on the show...and because Rite Aid had a buy one get one 1/2 off sale. This product is interesting. It says to spray some in your hand which seems odd to me, it just soaked into my hand, so that seemed like a waste of product. I did my regular "Aveda" morning routine, then I applied the primer product from this line first (which looks like simethicone "oils" and a little glitter), then sprayed some of this airbrush spray makeup on a triangular sponge like Carmindy does on the show, then applied. Do this near the sink it gets everywhere.

At first I wasnt sure if I liked it to me it's a pretty light coverage. I normally use Bare Esc. mineral makeup, which I think is also light in coverage. I sprayed the sponge @ 3 different times to get the coverage I thought I needed dont really have a clue if I did this "right" or not. We'll see how long this 1 oz bottle lasts. I used the primer and spray makeup over my eyelids, too....to help my shadows stay on.

This was only $13.95 full price, which is a plus. To recap, I applied primer, then this, then some loose powder with the sponge applicator also from this Sally Hansen "Natural Beauty" line. I'm not a fan of the sponge thing, but it works is just messy. I have to say, after the 3 products, my face did look really nice and it feels great! Like a baby's butt....and it's liquid foundation! Cant help but love that.

I am a fair skinned blond and usually use "light" in most products. The color may be too dark if you have "porcelain" type skin (if you're a redhead). For me it looks like it matches. I also tried two of the eyeshadow trios which I LOVED. I use brushes to apply eye shadows not the sponge applicators. The eyeshadows cover well and the colors go beautifully together. I also tried one of the glosses that supposedly lasts 6 hours. Does it last that long? No. It lasts @ an hour, but that is longer than lots of other glosses I've tried. Overall I'm happy with my purchases. Even my husband noticed! Was hoping to find something more affordable and this may be it! Now let's see how long it lasts and if it makes me break out. If no breakouts, I may change to this in the winter and keep Bare Esc. for the summer when my faces is oilier. This feels better with my drier skin during the winter.

I initially only tried this product because of how Carmindy on What Not to Wear described airbrush foundation (I love her WNTW show). I thought this product that she helped create would be really good, as she states that it also contains ingredients that are good for your skin. I also bought the Beautyblender sponge (which I also LOVE) to use with this product, as Carmindy recommends to use a sponge, but I don't like the incredible amount of waste generated from using a single-use sponge every day. This first time I tried this, I wasn't sure if it would be enough coverage, as it seemed a little sheer. That was before I realized how to use it correctly. You can layer this product on with your sponge for more coverage, and you can also do something called "stippling", where instead of rubbing the sponge with product onto the skin, you press it into the skin for more coverage.

I can truthfully say that this is the first foundation that I've ever used that doesn't flake off the dry areas of my skin during the times of the year that I have dry skin. It feels light (doesn't feel like foundation at all) and makes my skin look healthy and 'glowy'. I am now a super-fan of this airbrush spray makeup, and I hope they keep selling it for a long time! I recently just wore this airbrush makeup for my engagement photoshoot, and my skin looked beautiful!

I am a big fan of "What Not To Wear" and Carmindy...I love how she transforms faces from blaise to brilliant! So I ran right out to purchase Sally Hansen Airbrush Spray at a local CVS drugstore.

The can was so much smaller than the one she uses on the show!

I agree with another reviewer: The directions say to spray it in your hand, but that is not the best way, as it does seem like a waste. So, I decided to simply apply it by spraying my face with it.

If you like allot of coverage this is a good product. But, if you are going for that natural look, then...not so much! It looks a little "pancaky".

Perhaps it would be better suited for an evening out, rather than everyday wear. I was a little let down, because on the show, this makeup seems to give a translucent, dewy look, and a 'glow'.

I don't believe in spending allot of money on makeup and for $14 for 1 oz ...I would rather spend it elsewhere.
