Although it doesn't say so, this polish seems to be a base/top coat as it is very fast-drying. The glitter is not dense even with two coats but provides a nice sheen, either alone or over other colours. I use it often over nail designs and it looks lovely like that too.
Note: If you like a denser glitter effect, however, this polish is not one of those.

Best Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish, #489 Greige Deals
I got 2 bottles for what I almost pay for just one. I have purchased this product (same color and brand) in the past and was surprised to see that I could purchase it online.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color, 0.4 oz - Emerald Review
I have a few Extreme Wear polishes, but Emerald City is my favorite color. I'm waaay bummed that it's been discontinued!
The thing about this line is you can't treat it like the usual 1-coat slap-it-on drug store polish. The formula is almost watery, and I've found I get the best results when I work WITH that quality and simply take the time to apply several (like, 4-5) very thin coats, letting each one dry thoroughly, until I get the desired opacity. Add a top coat (I like Sally's No Chip), and this is a richly colored, long-lasting manicure that stands up to doing dishes, working in my garden, caring for my toddler, you name it.

Bought this product and used it on top of my french manicure, for both myself and my clients....DO NOT USE if you plan on going in the sun! There is no UV block and the polish turns yellow when you spend any time in the sun! Made a complaint to Sally Hansen, their response was to NOT pull the product or add a disclaimer but send me coupons to buy more? This product protects my nail polish and save it for long time. I this this is an excellent product that hepls to maintain my manicure perfect for many days.
