This is by far the best brand of nail polish I've ever used. It dries super fast and it actually stays on my nails rather than get all over my skin. I've used other brands where I spend half the time cleaning the skin around my nails, but this is super easy to put on. The polish also lasts a very long time. It doesn't chip off my toes at all and the only reason I need to re-apply is when my nails grow out.

The color is also amazing. It's a deep beautiful dark purple that looks fantastic against my skin. It's not a "WOW that's purple" color, but more subtle and alluring with a nice bit of shine. I hope they never stop selling it!

Honestly, I ordered this to get free shipping from Amazon for an order. I've never used Sally Hansen nail polish before but it's one of those brands I always see around. The picture Amazon provides is pretty close to the color so I knew what I was getting. When I painted it on my nails I have to admit I didn't like it and I didn't think I could pull it off, it's a bright, shimmery plum but after a day or two it grew on me. The polish dries quickly, which is fantastic for me since I'm pretty bad at allowing nail polish enough time to dry, and I have to say it lasted a lot longer than I thought. My job is very hands-on, I do a lot of typing on a keyboard and I also have to use Gaff Tape and Duct Tape which is notorious for removing nail polish. This polish really held up to my job, something no other polish has done before it. Next time I buy nail polish I'm going to look at this brand and type, but perhaps a less flashy color.

Full Disclosure: I did not purchase this product from Amazon because I found it at my local pharmacy for a heck of a deal. However, I wanted to share my experience with these strips. This is my second set of "gels" (the first one was the starter kit in Wine Not color). So far, I have been very pleasantly surprised. The strips are easy to apply with a bit of practice, my little LED lamp is working just fine, and I love the way the shine lasts and lasts. I was a little skeptical about the removal process, but the first set actually came off very nicely. My starter kit has paid for itself in convenience and time savings alone (I ***hate*** waiting in line at the nail salon), and I have had a lot of compliments on my nails in the past couple of weeks. Quick tip -when choosing the size of nail strip, choose either the one that fits perfectly or one slightly LARGER than your nail. If you select one that is too narrow and doesn't cover completely, it will look really bad and believe me -those who get professional gel manicures will notice! :D

Overall impression: Lasts slightly longer than a regular mani, but nothing like a real gel one.

Pros: Easy to do, especially if you aren't good with clean lines. Looks nice while it lasts. Easier to remove than a real gel manicure. Not messy. Price. If your nails aren't too long, you can actually use 1 strip on two nails.

Cons: LED has a short and doesn't stay on. Peels slightly about a week in. CAN chip, even with a few top coats.

I think this is an instance of "You get what you pay for". I would have given them 3 stars (maybe even 4), but the lamp doesn't stay on consistently. This is a real problem since you can only put one finger in at a time. You can fix the peeling by filing it a bit and applying another clear coat. However, the chipping (which isn't terribly frequent) just is what it is.

I'm lucky if I can go a full 24 hours without chipping newly polished nails. I only got these because they were 50% off at Target (regularly $8.49). But have now ordered several from Amazon, still cheaper than the store. They are made of real nail polish, but have something else in them because they don't get nicks or chip as easily as regular nail polish. They last at least 2 weeks for me. Possibly longer but I like to change them. People say they're a pain to take off, but they're made of nail polish, not a sticker. Using nail polish remover it is similar to taking off maybe 4 coats. One box comes with 2 sealed packs of 8 strips each. My nails are short, and I can easily use one strip on 2 nails. So each box easily provides 2 full sets of nails for me. I can also do my toes using only 3 strips, by applying them then trimming off the edges. So if I'm careful, I can use just one pack for a full set of fingers and toes.

I've followed the directions but they don't adhere as good. Here's how I do it (I think this way is much better) -

I give myself a manicure first. The instructions suggest smoothing your nail with the smooth side of the file (included) before applying. For me, they don't stick as well that way. I use the darkest pink side of the file and lightly 'roughen' the nail, blow off any dust, then apply. They provide a little give, so if you press it on and it's not prefect, you can still lift it back up and reapply a couple times. After the 2nd time of lifting it up it's less sticky, but heat makes it adhere, so pressing it down for 5-10 seconds with another finger gets it stuck well. I use the tip of another nail to make a crease at the end of my nail, and on any sides that go onto my skin, and pull off the excess. Then I use the smooth side of the file to vigorously smooth the top of my nail, creating friction and heat to make it stick well. Done!

You have to read the directions, and be careful. If you have a steady hand, and love to do your own nails, this is for you. I love these strips.

When using these polish strips you have to take your time. You have to give yourself a manicure first then slowly lay on the strip. And it helps to have warm hands. The strips last over ten days for me and still look wonderful, and I do alot of cleaning without gloves. I do put a clear layer of no chip nail polish so that might be why mine last longer. My only complaint is that its a hassle to take off.

I saw this product advertised in a magazine and got very excited. I used to do the whole messy gel process at home (mixing the powder alone was a pain). I was a bit shocked when I learned the price of the kit but I had a $2.00 coupon so that made it more palatable to purchase.

The kit is available in a few color choices (one color per kit). Then you buy individual Insta gel color strips at 14.99 per box. I chose the kit with the Shell We Dance color strips and also purchased a separate box of strips in the Punch Drunk color.

I was surprised to see how small the LED curing gadget was. I figured it was going to be battery operated but was happy to see it had a power adapter.

The instructions are fairly easy to follow. I read through them all thoroughly however before starting.

The kit includes two alcohol prep pads, an orange stick, a double grit file, gel top coat and 16 color strips of various widths. I thought 16 was a strange amount. I mean, most of us have 10 fingers. So why not 10 for a lower price or include an extra 4 for an even 20. That would allow for two applications right? I was kind of irritated to know I paid for an orange stick, a file and two alcohol pads because those are things that I (and I think most of us) already have in our nail care kit.

I started by filing my nails to the desired length and shape. I softened and pushed my cuticles back (this is important in order to place the color strip evenly at the base of your nail). I washed my hands, dried completely and then swabbed my nails with the alcohol pad.

I examined the color strips and selected the needed sizes for each nail. The strips are fairly long (over an inch) with a tab at the ends. You peel the plastic cover off and then peel the strip from its backing. You then position the color strip evenly on your nail starting at the nail bed. The instructions say to do this with warm hands. Once the strip is on the nail you want to smooth it out. The instructions say to use the orange sticks' flat side to smooth along the cuticle and sides of nail bed. I did that but first I used the heat from my fingers to smooth out the color strip. I then gently pulled the excess strip out and off my nail. In my opinion, there is a LOT of waste with the color strip. Most of us wear our nails in an active length. I didn't pay that amount of money for half the color strip to be thrown in the trash.

You need to use the pale pink grit of the included file to get the excess color plastic off of the edge of the nails. The instructions don't mention this but I found that using regular sharp edge tweezers is the best way to pull the excess from underneath the nail tip.

After applying all the color strips it was time to brush with the curing gel topcoat. You apply the topcoat and then put your nail immediately underneath the LED light for 30 seconds. The light turns off automatically after 30 seconds. The instructions say at this point your manicure is done. It is NOT. Your nails will still be tacky (sticky) for at least 10 more minutes. So, don't do anything with them until they are completely dry.

I was impressed with the overall shine of the nails once they were completely dry. The next day I noticed they weren't as shiny AND there were two that had been chipped. Not just a small chip but a noticeable chunk was missing. I figured out the reason for the extra 6 color chips in the kit...REPLACEMENT. The problem is I had already used the size needed for that nail so that size was not in the remaining 6 extras.

The time it took to apply these gel strips is greatly reduced from the time of the traditional gel process. But it still took time. More time than a traditional manicure of a bottle of polish and topcoat.

The instructions for removing the gel strips are: Soak each nail in nail polish remover (acetone) and then cover with foil. The strips should dissolve easily. I have an easier way. Scrape your nail with another nail or any sharp object and just PEEL the darn thing off. Easy Peasy.

Because of the time it takes to apply these correctly and the lackluster result, I have to say that I am NOT impressed. I am going to return the extra color strip pack I purchased. I will just use the remaining gel topcoat on a traditional polish job and see if the LED light works with that.

EDIT 1/25/13: Today I polished my nails with a regular (albeit higher end) nail polish brand. I let them dry for 20 minutes and them applied the Gel Cure that was included in the kit. I put each nail under the LED light gadget twice. The Gel cured fine and my nails are glossier than with the Insta-color strips. So, if you are not happy with the kit itself keep the light and the Gel Cure and use it in conjunction with your regular polish.

I tried Sally Hansen Insta-gel strips for the first time, and I followed the directions explicitly. The process was easy enough, and they do dry instantly after using the UV light, which is nice. However, less than 24 hours later two of my nails have already chipped. For this reason, this system is not worth the $14 it costs for the strips each time you want to do your nails. For that price you might as well go to the salon and get a manicure done. I also do not like that you basically have to soak your fingernails in acetone nail polish remover to take the polish off, which I understand is true of all gel polishes, but its just not what I feel like doing since I just did my nails last night. I do not recommend this and I will not be purchasing again.

For most of my life I've been a nail biter. Recently, through sheer willpower I've stopped biting them but know from past experience that I need to keep them polished or I'll stop biting them again so I'm using Sally Hansen Nail Growth Miracle. For me this polish serves two purposes. First, it keeps me from biting my nails (unless I want to chew nail polish). Second, it really does seem to help my nails grow. Because of my nail biting, my nails were really short and within a month they are at the point where I need to file them. The nail polish goes on nice and smoothly (I always apply a base coat first). The color is nice not too light but not so dark that it draws attention to my nails something I really appreciated while growing them out.

My wife purchased 2 "Sally Hansen" Tan Glow leg makeup and both nozzles clogged before completing the application. She purchased another because the spray when applied was great. This one was clogged before use!!

She has the receipt for the last one and will return it. Several attempts to unclog the others failed, IE; water, air Etc.

I love this product. I live in Florida but don't sunbathe, preferring to keep my skin out of the sun and hopefully not aging it too much. I am allergic to the chemically developed fake tans so this is a godsend to me. I am English by birth and have milk bottle white skin, not attractive! I use this all over my body and it works well. It can rub off on clothes especially when first applied so I generally apply it the night before so that it is completely dry for the following day and less likely to rub off. I bathe, shave my legs, use a body scrub (I love Sugar Crush Body Scrub by 'Soap and Glory'), then apply Neutrogena Hand Cream unscented Norwegian formula as an all over body moisturizer (apply sparingly, a little goes a long way). I wait a few minutes to make sure it is all absorbed and my skin feels smooth and dry then I spray on the Sally Hansen for a perfect result.

I tried the "Nyce" brand of airbrush legs, which was terrible, so compared to that, I've found this works ok. I spray about 4 sprays on my calves and then have to work fast to spread it. It's about impossible to spread down to the tops of my feet though and if you try to spray directly on the tops of your feet, it gets sort of messy and too much and streaky. So, for the tops of my feet, I use a tanning powder with a big brush. This will stay on your legs well if you don't shave or rub them with a towel after you shower (or put soap on them) Just rinse off and air dry if you want the color to remain on your legs through the next day. I've seen one reviewer having trouble with the sprayer clogging up. I've experienced that a little myself with some cans, but not to the point where it was completely un-useable. I would just do short quick sprays and it would still work. It's pretty expensive stuff though. I bought my can at Walmart and including tax, it came to $12.11. That's still cheaper than buying it here on amazon and then having to pay shipping too. I've found this at Target too, by the way!

This is a fairly decent product. If you are looking for light coverage and want to create a smooth evened out look on the legs this product will work. Contrary to what others have said on the internet about this this product will not cover blemishes, scars and varicose veins. It makes them appear softer but the scars and dark spots on my legs still showed through so I am still searching for a better product. I bought airstockings recently once it has been shipped to me I will write a review for that too and compare this product with airstockings.

I have had ingrown toenail trouble for years. I used to wait until my toenail was soft after a shower and try to cut away the ingrown curved under part of the toenail with a dental tool. This is very pointed and precise for getting at the curled under part of the toenail. My toenail tries to curl under from both sides and starts to look like a tube from the front view. My doctor suggested filing down the center arc of the toenail a little to allow the toenail to flatten out a bit ( in order to 'loosen the clamp pressure' so to speak). I thought he was reaching but between this tool and the doc's advise I am much more pain free.

I've used this product for three years now. I do use it with the strips because it's just easier to get the wax off, although the directions says otherwise. I would test the wax before applying because it gets really hot. I normally have to microwave the wax more than once because the little jar cools really fast. The first time I microwave for two minutes. Then I microwave for 1 minute intervals after that. I normally wax my eyebrows approx. 12x/year. They stay looking fresh for approx. 3 weeks. I buy a jar of this a year so I'm approximating that if I paid Amazon price I'ld have eyebrow wax for 3 years which is a pretty good deal. You always have to practice caution when putting hot wax up to your face. As long as you practice caution, follow the instructions and plan your approach (hence the reason the wax gets cold again, maybe I should invest in a wax warmer) this wax will do what it's supposed to do.
